Ersson (maybe)..though I'm going to look for a starter this off-season.
If I can get a boatload for players like TK or Risto, I'd do it. Talk Atkinson into retirement. I hope Briere can find a way to address their cap situation. I'm tired of having no money available to improve the team, significantly. Damn..it would have been nice to see Michkov in Orange and Black, next season.

They're not just soft, though at times I think they have been that. They're tired, not that collectively talented in all honesty, and the young players are getting their feet wet. They are finding out what it takes to win hockey games down the playoff stretch run.

its the Flyer way. He eventually becomes GM, Briere becomes president, Flyers dont win a cup, we all suffer
its a proven formula
Whatever pushes Holmgren, Clarke and Co. further and further away from having ANYTHING to do with any involvement in the running of the franchise..I am a fan of. They are still, though much less involved, lingering like a sewer system odor, somewhere near the franchise. (Yes, I'm a bit of a cynic.)

Joel Farabee = JVR 2.0
I disagree. JVR was and is, a statue on skates. Farabee can be a very good player. He just lacks awareness and effort, at times.

You can thank Chuck Fletcher who for all we know was instructed by the higher ups the ones who draft to hand him that contract.
Who was already dealing with injuries at the time and was almost 2 years removed from his 33 goal season (2018-19) and even stepped down to 59 points the season before the new contract.
Once again instead of shipping him out the reupped him major phuk up!!!
The gift that keeps on giving. Look at the bright side his deal only has 6 more years left on it!!!
Yeah, it's disgusting stupidity, on the part of prior failed management. The only ways out of it, that I see..are 1) trading him, or packaging him, for a player of close to equal value, who is probably overpaid (Zegras?) or 2) Briere talking Couturier into retirement.

agree, not an implosion but simply them coming back down to Earth, they've played better this season than anyone expected.
as Ray Diddy would say "Reality Check! "
They're burning out. The veterans in the room are getting tired themselves and aren't good enough, and don't have "another level" necessarily to get to. Many of the younger players haven't experienced an end of the season push, or an NHL playoff run. I give Torts a lot of credit, because I didn't think at the start of the season, that he would do so well with a young team. That being said, questioning your team's stones in public, might not have been the best way to deal with it. When you're 3-5-2 down the stretch, though, I guess it's time to try anything. They have 100% played better than anyone, especially the so-called experts, expected.

Which is greater?
Hakstol’s love for VandeVelde or Torts love for Poehling?
VandeVelde makes Ryan Poehling look like the second coming of Mario Lemieux.

These guys are playing sluggish and whooped. They're toast. It would have been nice to have added a couple of impact players at the deadline, especially ones with some offensive skills. The last GM and those above him at the time, buried this team with awful decision making, and Briere couldn't do much..BUT I wish he had done a bit more at the deadline. Tortorella has gotten as much out of them, as he can. They just don't have enough of anything, especially consistent talent. They'll be on the golf course by the end of the first round of the playoffs, if they make it that far. 2-5-3 in their last 10.
-
Inexcusable to lose this game, especially the way they did, to that team. Here come the "Is Tortorella losing the room" comments. The team isn't good enough, and it is showing more and more. Not good heading toward the playoffs.
This might very well describe the Flyers right now, in picture form.

How different the Flyers' history might be if Bernie doesn't absolutely lock it down that day...
It would have been different, for sure. They weren't winning Game 7, in Boston Garden.

The end of the second period of this game, would be a great time for our PP% clicking at 12%, to wake up and get one. As I speak, TK scores! 1-0, Flyguys!

The first ten minutes of the game...without a shot. Not good. Shuffle the forward lines, Torts.

Congrats to Wayne! It might be cliche but he truly worked hard every game.... and played good, skilled, physical hockey, in all three zones.

The Flyers hang on by the hair, on Gritty's chin.

Wonder what it’s like to have a team with tons of offensive stars?
Those Leave offensive stars still don't know what it's like, to win a Cup. Oh, that's right...neither do the Flyers.
Carry on.

Tavares scores. One goal game. Finish the job, Flyers.

GREAT job by Tippett to never give up on that play.

The post gets the number one star of the night. Everybody thought the post was a stiff. Not me.
Bertuzzi makes it a one goal game. They got momentum from their PK. Now the Flyers are getting sloppy and careless, and the Leaves have a chance to tie the game. Damn. Stay out of the box!

Poehling great hustle to get the puck out of the zone, or the Leaves would have had a great chance. The Flyers need to slow the pace down, a bit.

It is not unrealistic to think they could go 11-6 or better, IMHO. If they do that, they should remain in a favorable spot. They NEED to get the power play going.. and keep it rolling, if they have any chance of doing that against these opponents, though. The schedule makers did the Flyers no favors, down the stretch with back to backs, and tough opponents.

Ranta on waivers seemed odd to pass on.
I'm fine with them passing on Raanta. Maybe it's just me, but he seems to get injured a lot. I wanted a veteran backup goalie at the deadline, just not him.

It was Tori Krug who used his NMC to block a trade to the Flyers for Sanhiem last summer.
It's nothing current or new, but did happen.
His team sucks but at least he and Haysey can get good barbeque together .
Those miserable bastards
Looking at Krug's play this year, and I realize the Blues not being great defensively or scoring a lot offensively, isn't all on him...but a -27 is in fact, that. The Flyers not trading Sanheim for him, was the right decision.

I don't love the years on the Seeler deal, but that's far from the biggest issue the Flyers have, regardless of whether they head to the golf course in April or May.
