    For the stat folks...

No claims being made for the Debbie downers...

It's Dougie Downer, not Debbie. 🤣 I'm not saying Michkov won't great, if he gets here. I'm quite confident he will be. I just really worry about the political situation over there, and him not getting here. The earlier he gets here, obviously the better for the Flyers.

Too late for all of that now.

We'll just have to hope the front office can fall back on all their previous Cup winning roster building experience.

    What could go wrong?

It really is amazing that a front office with virtually no NHL experience, is an upgrade over what was here previously, but it is.

The Boston-Florida series will be a good re-match. Boston will be ready this time.

They will be, so will Florida..who is better than last year, and the series will almost certainly go at least 6. I think Bobrovsky is going to be a huge difference maker, though. He is really locked in, and will be very tough to beat (not that Ullmark and Swayman, are chopped liver).

I'll just leave this here nothing like good ol speculation...

...but damn IF he is available i would really really hate that the Flyers didn't throw their hat in the ring...doesn't hurt to ask.

But would the Canes really let this happen?

    🤔

The Flyers won't let that happen, and if the 'Canes get to at least the conference finals (which I think they will, before losing to FLA), I don't see it happening. The Flyers ownership still seems quite content in overpaying too many players, and being a fringe playoff team. I think Tortorella is staying put.

I think they need to change pieces of that core, but it will be difficult. They're all very expensive, signed to long-term deals with no-movement clauses, and the only teams that could afford to take their salary will be weak, and the players almost surely wouldn't waive to go there.

    The Leafs are quite stuck.

If there was any way they could keep Matthews, I'd do it, if I were them. He is uniquely skilled and has shown me, a better competitiveness and more leadership on both ends of the ice.  They should look to try and trade Marner or Nylander. They haven't been effective enough, for the money they make, in the playoffs. One of the problems they have, is one that the Flyers traditionally do. Overpaying players, and making them unmovable.

Canucks certainly made him pay for that big miss....instead of a tie series, we are going into OT where Nashville can still win obviously, but nothing is guaranteed now!

The hockey gods tend to greatly dislike those brainfarts, like the one Sissons committed. This series might end in the Canucks favor, in five, now.

  7. I'm not much of a fan of Nylander. All the talent in the world and takes monumentally dumb penalty in the offensive zone. A momentum KILLER. The Leafs had the Bruins against the ropes and had a great chance to get within one, but Nylander with a huge brain fart ..throwing DeBrusk down to the ice. It's not rugby or football, Willie.

  8. Toronto...with all their flash and skill, still lack composure and discipline every single time in the playoffs. They aren't mentally tough, either. This year is no exception, and all I need to see to know who's dominated this series (though, yes, I've watched every game), is Boston is 6 for 12 on the power play. They STILL aren't built for playoff hockey. The Bruins are built for it, but they're going to run into their kryptonite, in the next round. Toronto might not be as soft with the additions of Reaves, and a few others, but they're too mentally fragile and Boston has a stronghold over the Leafs collective minds.
