  1. Well, to me the Devils are consciously working the perimeter with the sole purpose of tiring our guys out, then once they have done that they'll throw the puck at the net . And yes, their players are winning those battles. We need to do the same thing, but unfortunately Brodeur prevents that from happening with his stickhandling after we dump it in...not to mention the devils seem 'Bigger' along the boards for some reason.
  2. @everyone You guys sound like Pens fans making up for excuses for why the Flyers beat them instead of giving the Flyers credit. Maybe they (Pens fans) were right and the Pens played poorly and we happened to benefit, get bounces etc. Maybe now we are facing a team that is not playing poorly and has a goalie who is not pooping the puck into his own net after every shot like Fleury was. ...or has anyone just simply thought that the Devils have been better so far and are the better team right now ? Is it really the Flyers fault the Devils are better ? I think the devils just had a better game plan going into this series because they can adapt to the opponent, unlike Lavi. The way to stop our offense is to keep the puck away from us, in the corners, and forcing our offense to play D - in turn tiring us out. It's actually a brilliant strategy by DeBoer...but it's all our fault because we really are the better team and we should win.....

  4. You can blame their play on all those things, but I blame Nickleback.
  5. Round 1 was our 'Cup' from the fans and (now it looks evident) team's perspective. This is not over yet, but i do not like the body language i see out there and find it ironic tha Jersey is beating us with a 'mucking' mentality in the corners.
  6. We have a chance .... I'm across the country as far away as possible in Los Angeles.
  7. Ya know, I've been all over the country and seen it all from coast to coast, but there is NO place on earth worse than some of those streets in Camden, NJ. Sometimes I think that if I die and end up going to hell, a trap door will open up under me and shoot me down a tube that empties out into a ghetto in Camden, NJ -like in 'Being John Malkovich' or something.
  8. You may be right. The one time I was offered tickets and declined we won by more than 1 goal. It was surreal.
  9. Podes, I've been to 10 Flyer games in jersey and they lost THEM ALL..with Patrick Elias scoring a game winner seemingly every time and a total of 9 shots on net. Flyers on the road is one thing .... Flyers playing in North Jersey is another.
  10. All I can say is ... was that a can of tuna fish Jags banked off the wall and into the guys head?
  11. If this is regarding a Bryz season ending injury injury it might be a good idea. It tells everyone that BOB is the starter and the guy...and most importantly gives BOB the confidence to play goalie without looking over his shoulder.
  12. Not to be negative or anything, but with Bryz in net opposite Lundkvist we stand no chance unless Bryz can manage a few shutouts or 1 goal against every game. Lundkvist and the Rangers team defense WILL stop our offense, and if we're going to win against him it's going to have be a 1-0 or 2-1 type score.
  13. The key is to roll all 4 lines equally. Guys like Wellwood need ice time and having a 4th line that can play with anyone takes the heat off our top lines and preserves them for later in the game.
  14. ...well, the 'Wave of offense' has to make it through the neutral zone first.
  15. Does this mean I have to watch Patrick Elias score more back breaking goals against us ? UGHH.
  16. Solid team defense depends on forwards not being too engaged on offense and getting caught out of position - this is our weakness IMO. When play goes the other way on an odd man break and you have Bryz back there it's not always the best situation. This is why the Rangers don't score a ton of goals - the forwards are never pressing to the point where they'll be out of position. It's a gamble either way...score more goals or prevent goals... The Rangers are better at preventing goals and we are better scoring. However they have Lundkvist, and he can potentially stymie ANY offense.
  17. @canoli On paper I'll take the Rangers goaltending, defense, and shot blocking over our 'offense'. Sorry. However anything can happen as we all know. Each round is a new season.
  18. That works in beer league, but not with this Flyer team. You think Matt Read or Eric Wellwood are going to take out a goalie ?
  19. I just can't see us putting up 3 or 4 + goals against Rinne or Lundkvist consistently in a seven game series (which is what it will take)....and I just don't see Bryz only letting in 2 goals/game. With that said, as we have learned so far in the playoffs..anything can happen.
  20. I don't know...I can't see Bryz outplaying Lundkvist or Rinne unless something retarded happens.
  21. the B's going down is a good thing for us, however my concern is the Rangers. We just simply do not match up well with them. However, there are no shootouts in the playoffs so if we meet them in the conference finals we stand a chance.
  22. Cmon' Great series all around, but you guys are acting like beating the Pens is our 'Stanley Cup'. ...Now we have Giroux and Hartsy firing off T-shirt cannons at Nickleback concerts and Giroux being photoshopped as Jesus. We can enjoy this a little but Lavi still needs to figure out how to beat a defensively sound team Like the Rangers, Bruins, Preds and Blues. Until then, I'm keeping a straight face...and not shaving my beard. ~SoCalflyfan
  23. @mojo1917 ... NEVER use the word 'Nickleback' in the same sentence as 'Tool' & 'King Crimson' . ... oh wait ... I just did. ...but you get the point.
