How can they afford him? I mean I know how, but how do they always manage to get these top fleet players; i.e., Gaborik, Richards, etc and now they will probably land Nash. If I were Columbus, I would ask for Anisimov, Del Zotto and a 1st. Stick it to the Rangers. I can't imagine how or why they want to mess with this team. Oh well, at least he is off the Flyers radar.

My older sister was a fan first and I never understood her anger for a game and then when I was home sick with the chickenpox for a few weeks I got to see an amazing playoff run and there has been no turning back since then. @s3x Probably the biggest adjustment would be the total lack there of. LOL All kidding aside, for Grossman coming from a defensive system in Dallas and Kubina also from more of a defensive system, it might take a little adjusting to get into a more up tempo puck seek and destroy system. I almost s hit myself when I saw Kubina skate deep the offensive zone the other night. I think they'll be fine and they are sorely what this team has been lacking since the Pronger injury. Seriously, it's not like we have Rathje and Bundy back there as our defensive crutch.

I heard a woman by the name of Patricia Fleming served Nik Grossman his pre-game meal on Saturday at the WF Center. I am really starting to see the connection between the players and those who surround them. I hope Patty gets fired for her inability to properly motivate players..... *****Disclaimer, Patricia Fleming is an obvious made up name. I there really is a Patty Fleming that works at the WF Center, I hope she takes no offense to my rambling and gets a raise today, and her children ace their math test, etc, etc***** Christ I am starting to sound like Largo with my babbling. @AbelMorpheus By my experience, and this is not meant to insult anyone on the board, but I would have to say Cleveland Ohio. I would have went with Camden NJ or Chester City PA, but they are pretty much Philly when it comes to sports and the such....

no not good. Kubina is getting plugged into Lavy's system, but has a decent shot. Grossman, well the jury is out, but I'd take him over Lilja any day of the week. They are not terrible and I would wait a month or so to make a final conclusion.

@phlfly This is Philadelphia, the second most negative place in North America and the media and fans will not rest until there is a cup parade going down Broad Street. I do not hate the guy, I don't know the guy. I do hate his lack luster play though.

@phlfly If Bryzgalov was Canadian would you have the same "love" for him? His attitude is fun and carefree which is great off the ice, but when you are among the top 5 in salary it may behoove you to perform accordingly. Either that or at least at the very minimum pretend to care about robbing the Flyers organization blind.

@ruxpin Just reading that article upsets me more and more regarding Bryzgalov. If there is some language barrier, as some have suggested, than clearly he needs to stay away from the media before he has a contract put out on him. He has to be pulling some sarcasm angle, right? I mean he seriously cannot think that the Winnipeg fans were cheering for him. If he was being facetious, than I would go as far to say that he knows that the hometown crowd here in Philly is boo'ing him because of his beer league goal tending. I just don't see this 9 year marriage lasting much longer. The only thing that I see being plausible is that he is bought out when the CBA is restructured. Even that pisses me off to no end knowing that he'll get a huge payday to be marginally talented.

@canoli Somehow, some way if he can get back there again, he would be a beast. One that I haven't seen in a Flyers uniform in many years. I really like that line of Schenn, Simmonds and JvR though. We'll see soon enough.

@JackStraw I like the new avatar. All of you are right. We haven't seen JvR's ceiling yet. I am often too quick to throw him under the bus without doing research.

@mojo1917 If JvR can have a full injury season you may be right. My only fear is the contract hits and he becomes a shell of what he could be. Then again I guess that could be said about anything. He is not my favorite Flyer, but maybe a full healthy season could change my mind.
