I really will be mad if Nolan is not signed. What else does he have to do? He comes into an impossible situation, accepts it and goes to coach Latvia amd almost shocks the world in that Canada game. Tell me that Latvia's play did not reflect how good Ted is? I was shocked way back when he was coach of the year and then gets no contract. That was just plain crazy. Of course I will always love Lindy Ruff. I wonder how long he will be in Dallas and if he even likes it there?

I know one thing. If Vanek or Miller were announced to have signed in Philly, you guys would be dancing in the streets. Imagine Vanek and Giroux together. With Miller in the nets. He does have a limited no trade clause as to certain teams he will not go to. But I do not know who they are. I am certain Boston is on that list as well as Toronto

Everything you are all saying makes sense. But it also makes sense trying to keep a goalie like Miller. For 6 more years. He can certainly play that long and it will not take that long to turn things around with the amount of ammo Regier has stockpiled. You laugh about Kane but do not forget he is a Buffalo native. That means something. Miller, if he goes would want either Detroit, his hometown, or California where his wife is. St Louis makes sense to me. And Minny. He is far better than anyone either of them have. And what about Vanek? Do you see your boys making a play for him?

I have been a fan since the Sabres came into existence in 1970. I cannot agree with what is about to take place one bit. I do not believe they are making the right move if they move Ryan Miller. Dumb move. First they should offer him a contract. See what he says. If he turns it down, that is one thing. Nolan has now said its out of his hands what will happen. they will prepare for Carolina as Miller is still en route from Russia and Enroth made it back already. Could anyone blame Miller if he stopped in Sweden or Switzerland first? I would. Moulson says he has heard he will be traded since he got here. It sounds like that is a pretty good bet also. But what will they get in return? Not enough for Miller in my opinion. You are not going to have a guy in the nets next year as good as Miller if you trade him. I am hoping it does not happen. Even if it means the summer comes and we see what offers come. He may re sign as some have said. They said that is not impossible, but right now it seems rather unlikely. And Nolan does not even know his own fate. I think the man deserves an answer and a shot. Its a bad time in Buffalo. It can only get better, it cannot get any worse

I do not know how to take this comment. So if there are no great coaches in the NHL, then do you believe there are no great coaches in any sport? I know that great coaches do not come along that often. I consider Lindy Ruff to be a great coach. Because he not only knows the game, but he is very good at keeping his players in the right state of mind.

I have always wanted the Blues to win a Cup. And they deserve to as back in the late 60's and early 70's they were the Western rep many times with the likes of the Plaguer bros and Berenson. Great teams but just not good enough to beat the mighty Montreal teams and Orr's Bruins. They have paid their dues if you will. St Louis and Minny are two teams mentioned. I had thought Minny was happy with Backstrom? I know St Louis has Elliot and has gone back and forth. Miller is a step up and could be the difference and get them the Cup. No doubt

But when you look at Broduer, look how long he has played? He has to be far older than Ryan. Goalies can play a long time. Gump Worsley played I believe into late 40's if not his 50's. And lets not forget what Gordie Howe did. I know, not a goalie but still. I think Plante and Glenn Hall played pretty long too? Then you have guys like Ken Dryden who just wanted to walk away early. And I think Eddie Giacoomin was up there too?

The Islanders have to be plenty pissed off at Vanek right now. I mean, they give us alot for him. And he was worth alot IMO> He is a guy that can score if he has set up men with him, he is going to put the puck in. I think the message is loud and clear he does not want to sign with Brooklyn to be. I must admit I miss him. The Sabres traded away the best guy they have had in a long long time. Maybe the best since Mogilny and LaFontaine? Maybe he is not Rick Martin but he can be a monster. I guess we would not bring him back because of what it would cost. The Sabres are going to build from youth. My concern is Miller. You cannot find goalies very easily, but historically the Sabres have been one of the best teams in the NHL at finding great goalies. Do not agree. They have a handfull of players that are competitive. Have been blown out only one time. Once. At Colorado. Every other loss has pretty much been a one goal, and in many cases OT loss type. Ennis, Hodgeson, Ott are keepers for sure. It looks like Moulson and Stafford will be moved and they will likely trade some picks to ugrade faster. It can be done. It has been done and very often. This is a whirtwind season. They will not be this bad next year. They just fired Regier and after he made a couple of huge mistakes. He did do one thing right however. He left us with a ton of picks to rebuild with. You cannot say with any certainty that your Flyers will even make it to the finals again before we do. We are both welll behind doing that and you know it. You will have your own house cleaning to do and most likely with the GM like us. Sure you have played better. But if you want to win it all, I think you likely have to clean house first. Chicago did it. Took a while. Once they finally got Kane and the right coach. I am hopefull they keep Nolan on but this new management is a true mystery to me
