  1. I know you have no respect for the Bleacher report, but you cannot deny that Miller has been stellar playing for a team that is overmatched night in and out. He has been stellar. His goaltending has been spectacular. He is a battle tested veteran who has been to conference finals and won the MVP in the Olypmics. Miller is the best whether you like it or not
  2. If we could play the Sharks every night we would be a great team. Ryan Miller again shows why he is the best goalie in hockey. Bring it on. I will back this statement up no matter. In full rebuild mode, perhaps he is willing to wait it out to see how Darcy uses those 12 big picks in his pocket? They will be the key to our future how he uses them. All number 1 and 2 picks. That is alot of picks. Some no doubt will be traded. If Miller goes, he has earned the right to demand alot from Darcy. I do not know if it will happen, I know offers will come but if they are not great, keep Miller and move on and build knowing you have a great net minder to speed up the process. Losing a goalie like Miller is not acceptable to me. The only question is, will he want to stay? If the Olympic team puts him on the roster, he may. That is no doubt part of his motivation.
  3. Do not forget we have 12 first and second round picks in the next two drafts. I do not know why you put Vanek on that list. Did he do something wrong? Armia, Girgensons, Zadorov, will all be good. You cannot judge a guy that has not played a game. And you listed at leat 4 guys that are no longer with Buffalo. You are all over the damn place. Why dont you go take a look at your teams roster.
  4. Just look at Tampa's record. 9-4. They are not ****. They are not good, just lucky
  5. They said it right on national tv last week. And we have gotten younger since now that Vanek is gone. We are tied with some other team for the youngest. Period. We will be the youngest by far after this year I assure you. And who is the guy that told me last night the Flyers are better than us? Gee, I just looked at the score board and cringed. Time to admit we are both screwed this year. Big time. Question is, who gets fired first, Holmgren or Regier. I think Regier is likely safe. After tonight, I expect some heads to roll in Philly. i am not allowed in your forum. So if you are going to come here and tell me the Sabres are not as good as the Flyers, I have to respond to that nonsense. They both are in terrible shape right now. Its a question of which team will win the next game this month. I never dreamed either team could be this bad with the players they have. Its beyond belief
  6. PS Blocker, I think you had best turn the Sabres and Flyers off for the rest of the year.
  7. There are not too many older players left. They have the youngest team in the league. And Rolston I doubt is going to be part of the long range plan anyways
  8. Typical. Miller once again shines and they give Lundquist the 2nd star? 29 saves? Big deal. Miller is playing in a position no veteran goalie would want any part of. Yet he is playing great. I am just wondering what he is thinking? He has to be on the minds of some GM's. They know Darcy is not going to give him away. So its cat and mouse for sure. Do they wait until the trade deadline and try and pull the trigger on a deal for him? I mean the other GM's that want him? If he is willing to wait for this team to rebuild and go through the draft and free agency process, will he consider resigning with the Sabres if no big offers come or if the Sabres cannot get the value for him? He is worth plenty in my book and he is young enough to wait it out and win once they get it together. Even if its two years. Look how old Borduer is. Look how old alot of goalies have been that played this game effectively for many years. Guys like Giacomin, Plante, Hasek, Worsley, Parent, Broduer, Cheevers, Hall, etc. He can stay if he is willing. He is still young enough to do that.
  9. What choice does he have. He is lucky to have a job. He is far more expendable than Steve Ott. Who do you think the boss is? It isn't Rolston
  10. He is unlikely to be around once Darcy finishes the job putting the pieces of the puzzle in place. It may take until next year or the draft in 2015 to complete the project and while its going on, guys like Ott and Cody can teach the young guys plenty. Armeia will be back too. I do not need a Lexus. I have a brand new Equinox. We picked it up a few weeks ago. Loaded.
  11. Miller is better by far than any Flyers goalie. Yes he may be traded. Easy for you all to throw stones at the Sabres but your own team is in worse shape looking forward by far. You do not have even close to the number of draft picks we have compiled going forward. So in this rebuild they have chosen to do, at least they are doing the right thing while your GM is a chicken with his head cut off. Spending a fortune on a goalie that is now gone. Letting a good goalie get away. And beating the Giruex will win all formula to death. You have no defense. you have no goaltending. You have no coach. We have alot of young guys that will get better. You have alot of has beens that will not. I would not trade places with Philly for all the whiskey in Ireland
  12. The thing is, your boys are just sitting still. They think they have the players obviously. I will take our young roster over yours any day and wait for them to develope. You know deep down inside I am right about this.
  13. CBS sportsline has the Sabres all over their front page and they are saying Darcy is doing the right thing. The Buffalo news agrees to a point but they say its not enough to make up for Darcy's past failure. I do not know. What sense does it really make to fire him now? None. The coach? He seems to have them playing and focused and that is all you can ask of him. Its way too early to cast judgement on whether this is all going to work. I think it has to work to a degree. After all, they have accumalated a bunch of young talent and there is only one way they can go, up. The question becomes, what is their timetable? I would give Darcy until next season, lets sayThanksgiving of 2014 and see if things start to pay off. I am not sure about Rolston. If Darcy is able to land some star talent with all of these picks, does he keep Rolston around to run the ship? It most likely depends on whether they are still listening and working hard later in this dreadfull fiasco of a season
  14. Once again the Flyers keep pace with us. Another one goal loss. We are losing just about every game by one goal. Hockey has an element of luck involved more so than the other three major sports. No doubt, And right now the Sabres and Flyers cannot buy a break
  15. I think you guys need to fire Holmgren. I am serious. Fire his butt and then you can fix things fast
  16. At least we are going something about our plight. What is your team doing?
  17. The Sabres will be far better than your team in two years. And we will get back to the finals before your team does
  18. I do not agree with this statement at all. I think we will offer him a contract. He is married with young kids. He does not want to keep moving.
  19. Now wait just a minute. I was not mad. Furious. Ha. I am not saying anything against Thomas. Only saying the kid came to town one night after his whole life was turned upside down and he has responded in a positive way. When you get traded you have to uproot your family, move your kids, and you know what I mean. But maybe he is young enough not to have such problems? Not sure? I know Vanek is married but most likely his wife is in Austria or at least they probably spend the off season there. So far it appears they got a good player to go with their ever growing collection of picks. The question is how deep will the draft be? And I am not sure how the NHL system works right now? Lottery? Another discussion for another day. As I type this game is heating up. Cannot say the Sabres have quit. I think its safe to say Stafford will be gone after this season if not sooner. Oh man, Moulson almost got another one.
  20. Two goals already for Moulson and the Sabres have cut Dallas's lead from 4-1 to 4-3. I think Lindy may want to get out of Dodge? Darcy is starting to look pretty good. Now maybe he will trade Miller and get two more firrst rounders. Buffalo may have the first 5 picks in next years draft. LOL
  21. He played many games for the Islanders before coming to Buffalo and having that huge season when Mogilny scored 76 goals (tying Teamo Selanne in his rookie year for goals if you can imagine two guys scoring that many goals in one season not named Gretsky and Messier). So he is sort of remembered as both an Islander and a Sabre though his heart seems to be more with Buffalo. I think he had some resentment to the Islanders. Strange all the business we have done with them. Darcy came from there too.
  22. Sounds like they more or less gave Thomas the choice. I am a bit surprised he was traded to a team in the East but Regier got alot for him. I mean, a darn good player and two top picks. A number one and two. The Sabres now have more draft picks than at any time in their existence. The question is how Darcy will use them? I am sure he may trade a few for established players and will use some of the number ones for top prospects. One year in hell can really pay off later if you can get a great young kid. Well we are almost a quarter through hell already. One has to think the future may be bright for us. But that is not what some impatient fans want to hear. But that is life in the NHL and especially when there are now so many teams. The Islanders got a to see what Vanek did to them last week first hand so I am sure they had their eye on him a while. He beat their goalie in the SO in style. Made the goalie look silly. Blasted it by him as he looked like a deer in the headlights. It will be interesting to see if they can keep him. And to see if we are going to want to pay this Moulson fella to stay?
  23. My list Perrault Martin Robert Vanek Hasek Miller Lafontainne Mogilny Gare Ramsey Peca Korab
  24. Must have been the game when we knocked you guys out with Grosek's goal? Peca and Sanderson. Wow. The last time the Dallas Stars won in Buffalo was the Cup winner, the goal by Hull that should have been taken down. Hard to believe. I was at the last one when we beat them. I have a feeling tonight they will get that win in Buffalo. But who knows. I just have no clue what that locker room will be like without Vanek. Its beyond belief. I have to see who the Islanders are playing
  25. Too bad Lindy will not get to see Thomas? Or will he? I sure wish Ruff were still here. Firing him was just stupid. He is going to light us up like a Xmas tree unless one Ryan Miller stones his team. I am sure Ryan will say hi to him and many others. He has alot more friends in this town than Rolston. The sky is falling
