yave1964
Toronto added a very nice piece to their blueline and Jake Mccabe who should slot nicely into the role vacated by the oft injured Jake Muzzin and 4th line grinder Sam Lafferty. In exchange the Hawks get the Leafs first rounder in 2025 and a conditional second rounder in 2026. This was in response to likely first round opponent Tampa outbidding them on Tanner Jeannot. The Hawks also get Minor leaguers Joey anderson and Pavel Gogolov. Both are minor leaguers, complete zeroes as far as NHL ability goes but the bodies had to be equal to make it work for the Leafs. Like it a lot for the Leafs. Mccabe has been toiling in obscurity and having a very solid year with nobody really noticing. He is not a big scorer but is big and loves to hit and a rarity in todays nhl, he loves to block shots as well. Lafferty is a depth forward, everyone seems to be falling in love with him for some reason this year, he has been around for awhile now with Pittsburgh and Chicago and can play a little bit and occasionally surprise with a sneaky goal but really, just depth material. The key is the talented and highly underrated Mccabe. Edited February 27, 2023 by yave1964
