blocker Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 There is an item in the news section here about the retirement of Red Fisher. Some of the very best writers have been people who write newspaper columns. They write with clarity, integrity and skill. One of those is Red Fisher. When he was on shows such as HNIC, he came across as gruff and combatitive. I think that was because he sought the truth. In reality, he was a kind, generous person. One of my sons had dreams of being a sportswriter when he was young. He wrote to Mr. Fisher for advice. Red replied to his letter with generous, friendly advice. Later, I had a chance to thank him for his kindness. He handled my thanks with graciousness. He's one of the good ones. Quote
