jammer2
Our resident tough guy/goon Ty Bilcke has signed a free agent try out deal with the Edmonton Oilers. He had the same type of deal with the Rangers last season, which was cancelled due to the NHL lock-out. Honestly, one of the toughest customers in the whole OHL, is an ok skater, but I'll eat my shorts if he makes Edmonton. Strictly goon material, if nothing else, will make the Oilers rookie camp pretty interesting this fall. Our goalie prospect Jordan DeKort was passed over by all teams at this summers draft, but has been granted a free agent try out with the Blue Jackets and will play in the Detroit Red WIngs prospects tournament this fall in Traverse City, Michigan. Prospects from the Wings, Stars, Blue Jackets, Wild, Blues, Sabres, Canes and Rangers, so lot's of exposure there, even if things don't work out well with the Jackets. He's 6'5 and 200, pretty quick, worth a look I'd say.http://www.windsorst...4646/story.htmlIn other news, our star d-man Slater Koekkoek (the 10th overall pick by the Bolts in 2012)the 19-year-old got the call Saturday from Ryan Jankowski, who is the head scout of the men’s Program of Excellence for Hockey Canada. Kerby Rychel (Blue Jackets 1st rounder) will also attend that camp.Jacob De La Rose, just drafted by the Spits in the European prospects draft will play for Team Sweden in the World Jrs. Apparently, his Swedish team was supposed to give him his release, but have recanted, leaving the Spits grasping at air, they were basically lied to.Team USA features 3 Spits, Calgary 2nd rounder Patrick Sieloff, Brady Vail (Habs property) and 7th round NHL pick Nick Ebert (who was ranked in the 1st round at one point, what a free fall!) who is LA King property, will all vie to crack the powerful Team USA line-up.
