Really, the game was not even that close. 3 goals in 8 shots chased Howard. The Senators were flying around, buzzing everywhere. The Wings looked old and tired and the Senators answered the bell for the first time facing former captain Daniel Alfredsson. New captain Jason Spezza: 2 goals Bobby Ryan, acquired to replace Alfie: 2 goals The Wings looked lifeless, more or less watching the play. It got ugly quick too...Big Bert scored late in the first, I thought okay, maybe we can get lucky and sneak one past Anderson early in the second and make it a game, but then Spezza scored on a fluky goal, one of the few times Datsyuk has ever been caught flatfooted and a puck that Spezza overshot the net and had it bounce back directly to him. leaving him all alone with it in front of a shocked and helpless Gustafsson.
