yave1964 Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Ben Bishop had his MRI after an UBI injury to his elbow forced him out against the Leafs earlier in the week. No structural damage was found and coach Jon Cooper has said that Bishop will not play again during the regular season. As far as the post season goes, well, Cooper did not rule out Bishop being available for the first round of the playoffs "at some point." He said the next 5 or 6 days will tell. This club has survived the gut check that was losing Stamkos for half the season, losing Bishop might be even more devastating as they enter the second season. Anders Lindback has been down right bad since joining the club. He has proven to be anything but the answer. Kristers Gudlivskis who starred in the Olympics for Latvia has been recalled and is hoped to give the team a spark. This club is built around fast forwards and Victor Hedman and the hope that Ben Bishop can hold his own. Bishop has thrived in the system and has allowed the club to push the puck. Without him it forces the Lightning to change their style and while I liked their chances against the Canadiens without Bishop, I simply do not think they can survive the first round. "at some point" better be damn soon or a great season will quickly go down the tubes unless Gudlevskis channels her inner Kenny Dryden. Quote
