Zz_
Mix, Mix, MixThe Avalanche are trying to shake up their lines a little more. Just one game removed from sending 18-year-old rookie Mikko Rantanen to the San Antonio Rampage, coach Roy is at it again, this time it involves sending no one down. The Avalanche will get Tyson Barrie back from a 3 game suspension, It looks so far like Barrie will skate with Nick Holden while the other two D pairings stay the same, Reto Berra will get his second start of the season, even tough he has played just two games and a period... Berra leads the NHL with 0.85 Goals Against and .975 save percentage, Reto is 1-1-0 with 1 shutout. The Avs will start their three game road trip against the 4-3-1 Florida Panthers who just lost Aleksander Barkov to a broken hand, but the Panthers have plenty of talent to not be too concerned with his loss. Expected line combinations against Florida: Gabriel Landeskog—Nathan MacKinnon—Jack SkilleDennis Everberg—Matt Duchene—Jarome IginlaAlex Tanguay—Carl Soderberg—Blake ComeauCody McLeod—John Mitchell—Mikhail Grigorenko Francois Beauchemin—Erik JohnsonNick Holden—Tyson BarrieNikita Zadorov—Nate Guenin Reto BerraSemyon Varlamov Scratched:Brandon Gormley—Brad Stuart
teenagemutantninjahertl
I find it interesting that Jack Skille is playing on the first line. He seems to have success playing up and down in lineups that are not particularly deep, like Columbus and Colorado.
jammer2
@Zz_ It is rather odd to see Skille on the top line...the other thing I was wondering about, Pickard was the best Ave's goalie many times last year, does he get called up if the current duo flounders? Zz_
@jammer2 I agree, it is weird to see Skille up top, however, Roy is known to put 3/4 guys on 1/2 lines. With the Avs playing the way they are and Pickard playing well in the AHL I could see him being called up..... IF*** Roy was not the coach. We wont see Pickard unless Varlamov or Berra are injured on the Avs sink 10 straight. Well on our way down 3-0 to Florida in the 3rd.
