yave1964
Two deals kind of went hand in hand today, The Hawks strapped for cap room as usual traded Andrew Shaw today to the Canadiens for 2 second round picks. Montreal needed some sandpaper after trading Dale Weise to Chicago at last years deadline. The Habs followed that up by dealing center Lars Eller to the Capitals for a second next year and a second the following year. Great trade for Washington, they went all year last season with a massive crater at 3C that they tried top fill with Laich and with Richards but neither ever got it done. Eller is a good faceoff guy who can score a bit and kill penalties. All three teams got what they needed. The Hawks got cap relief, the Habs got sandpaper and grit and Washington finally filled its massive hole at 3C. Good deals for all.
