ScottM
http://www.ottawasun.com/2016/08/23/ottawa-senators-sign-defenceman-cody-ceci-to-two-year-deal The Senators have reached a contract agreement with Cody Ceci. It had been reported that Ceci was looking for a deal that would pay about $4 million per season, while the Senators were looking for a lower cost bridge deal. It appears that the team got its wish with a two year, $5.6 million contract. Personally, I like this deal a lot. It gives Ceci the raise required to keep him in town, yet doesn't commit to too long of a term should things not work out the way I hope. If things do go well, we should be well-positioned to make a longer-term signing.
hf101
Yeah, $4M seems a bit steep for putting up a career high 26 pts last season. Ceci needs to continue to raise the bar to get that kind of money.
