I'm not sold on either of them, although Bourdon has looked far better than Marshall. I honestly don't think Marshall can play in the NHL, except maybe as a #6 on a lousy team. Bourdon: he's high risk, high reward. We'll see...

I think they will both be considerably better than they are now, being 22 and 23 respectively. But mainly by being more consistent. And more complete players. Especially Voracek. I would resign Jagr already for next year and have him spend as much time with Jake as possible, preferably with a puck. Even if a little bit rubs off, it's gonna help Jake enormously IMO. I don't think he'll ever be a sniper though. He has very little scoring knack.

Hey @blocker, is "they" his teammates? I assume, but can't really tell from your post. Assuming it is, there's nothing you can say except: "prove to them you're not." Win a battle. Win another one. And again. You get the idea.

It seems to make sense to me. Looks like they basically switched from lots of east-west travel to more north-south. I don't know if transportation hubs/networks support it or not, but I understand the rationale at least.

I'm watching the local news and they are interviewing a local researcher (PhD in something - I have to check exact credentials, don't think it was an MD) on "checking" (hitting) in hockey and concussions (all part of the Sid Circle Jerk) and she says that she is against hitting in hockey (she would abolish to age 16). First, she uses the word "checking" synonymously with "hitting" which is just imprecise. Checking means separating a player from the puck, but you don't need to hit someone to do that (although it is more fun). If you want to use it you have to say "bodychecking," the short version of which is "hitting" in the world that I live in. Guh! Secondly, when asked how players were expected to learn how to hit, if it wasn't legal, the best she could do was to say something like: "we need to find the best way to do that." Oblivious to the fact that an actual game of hockey is the best and the only place to learn how to give and take a "bodycheck." I need a drink.

@Vanflyer, as a lover of the CBC, as a taxpayer that funds the CBC, and as a devoted Crosby hater, I agree with you: it is too much. I was both impressed by the nimbleness with which CBC pulled this off and disgusted by their desire to suck Crosby cock.

I watched it live. The look on his face on the bench for the rest of the game was one of total disgust. His teammates did a good job telling him that it was no biggie (they had a 2-goal lead after all) and laughing it off.

@Oz: partly this is becuase he literally looks like Giroux, same size, similar skating style (Read is not quite as fast, especially with the puck), similar #s, both RH etc etc. It's a bit uncanny actually

Good point, but I think from a medium/long term perspective, it's debatable whether PHX is/was the better franchise to get. In fact, there are stories out there that ATL was the team that WPG coveted all along. And, back to your point: I'm not certain that Quebec or any other Cdn city "deserves" a franchise necessarily. Except for Toronto: they could really uses an NHL hockey team one of these years B)
