Come on old school it's 2023 and if we don't be over dramatic and controversial well it don't sale.

    I am going for clicks!!!

Besides I really think there is a chance they could move the kid maybe home to Manitoba?

Lol, yeah I could see the Jets interested in all home grown boys, but his contract is still an impediment I think.

So I just read that piece, Sanheim's NTC only kicked in on July 1? So they should have traded him sooner. I guess they tried. The Jets have some nice prospects, I'm not saying I wouldn't talk to them about TS, but I don't think he's in the same category of others in terms of contracts we have to get rid of.

No one is wrong on how they feel....and what they see.

I don't see the plight, except for the Flyers and the contract, as FC says. You can't blame the player for signing the contract. I think TS can be a really good top 4 NHL Dman. He's not nearly as bad as you think he is. And there's 4 other guys on the ice with him.

could you please elaborate on this POV?

Sure, in this video he fights Murphy after a big hit on Taylor Leier, who you've never even heard of. But Lots doesn't care who you are, he's gonna be there for you. Even you! He'd be there for you. Think about that for a second.

I didnt get that memo....you might get one of the mods to kick me out :bigteeth:

Nah, you're keeping the thread going man, all good. Deep down you do appreciate Scott Laughton. He's a Flyer. Plays the game the right way, with plenty of grit and leadership. Sticks up for his teammates. As a a natural center, he should be better on faceoffs, which is a legitimate criticism of his game. But even his career 49.8% average is dragged down by his first few years in the NHL.

Anyway, nice to see you here paying respects to the big man.

    Old convo lol

    Lol, cool.

Ok, so who was his center in Halifax? Was it Parent?

Because maybe it's his center or other linemates that explains Z's 44 goals in 58 GP as a 17/18 year old, which is pretty good even in the Q.

Yes. I don't like Laughton. Doesn't mean I know him better than the coach. It isn't implied either. I read Torts quote. here it is below.....

"Sometimes outweighs". SOMETIMES! Not all the time. Not consistently. Not night in and night out. Sometimes! His words. Yeah, and he sometimes scores goals. Sometimes he doesn't. Most times he doesn't.

On the issue of the "A", he said SL wore the letter, "He thinks" for a reason. He didn't state those reasons. He didnt say he knew for sure what those reasons were. If that comes off to anyone as a strong recommendation, that okay, that's your choice. For me, if this is the quote that supports all the love SL gets, then it isn't going to sway my opinion in the slightest.

Remember, Torts also was quoted as saying, “He’s a pro. He’s a steady influence for us,” when talking about JVR.

I didn't quote that piece, so I don't appreciate you making it look like i did. I dont need Torts to make my arguments. Especially with you.

    Do better.

    fair enough.

It has turned into wash, rinse, repeat. My point has been expressed. The only thing that will change my outlook is the player himself

    lets move on!

    Oh...did you hear?

    JVR IS GONE!

    Lol, sure.

Here's my final word on it (for now): I don't believe for a nanosecond that SL's play could change your "outlook" on him.

There's an irrational aspect to the intensity of your dislike for him. His crimes are so disproportionate to his actual play. I don't know why, but I think it's a first impression sort of thing. You saw a first round pick and felt he should score 30 goals, regardless of his actual play.

He's a good hockey player. In all kinds of ways. So that leaves me no choice but to question whether you know what a good hockey player is.

    Cheers
