Is hoping Brind 'Amour gets fired so the Flyers could hire him wrong??

I mean if help going to keep this nepotism going he's my guy. Tocchet is #2.

I mean look at the roster turnover he has had since just 2019-20. An yet they stay on top.

I want what they doing so close to me. I hate it...

...it's bittersweet i want success so hockey grows but damn.....never did i think the Canes and Lightning would ever win a Cup before my Flyers but here we are.

So yes i want Rod to come back to Philly and take them to a Cup it is the only way to close that story in my mind.

I hated watching him get traded....

You're never going to see that.  When the time comes to change the coach, Rod will get promoted and stay with the Canes for the rest of his life.

Yes he is i also forgot to mention a wild card - Jay O' Brien should be coming into the fold as well.

He is having a good year too 15 points in 16 games - so i fully expect him to forgo next season with BU and sign and join the Phantoms. It would suck if he opted not to sign with the Flyers and Ron steal him for the Penguins. I would be so pissed.

O’Brien and the BU Terriers are playing on NHL Network right now in the Beanpot Tournament.  The announcers praised him a couple different times since I turned it on.

As a Flyer fan, you might be led to believe Hey, this could raise his trade value.

But Fletch & co. are more likely to think this is the greatest achievement bestowed upon a Philadelphia Flyer since Bill Barber won Coach of the Year, a few months before he was fired. There's no way we can trade him now. We gotta pay him more than Haysee and JVR, cause they suck. 8X8?

Your post is dripping with sarcasm…

Simmonds won the MVP a few years ago (2017) when he was a Flyer.  Look where that got him..  3 teams later…

it’s still going to be Giroux’s choice to stay or go.

Yikes yeah I generally don't blame goalies on breakaways but Hart's 5-hole was gaping wide open..

Yeah a dumb pass by Konecny and what the hell is Ristolainan doing - Oskar too - trying to poke check the puck at their own blue line? That is like textbook How Not To Play Defense.

Sanheim pinched in and Oscar stepped up rather than cover for Sanheim.  He should've stayed back.  Agree about Hart's 5-hole.

I hate being pessimistic but JHC last night vs the Ducks - I would guess somewhere around 40 turnovers. Seriously. No matter who is out there ... they put Zero effort into making clean passes.

Not even close.  The Ducks had more turnovers than the Flyers.  Ducks had 10, Flyers had 8.

Quenneville was always going to Florida and wouldn't talk to them.

It wasn't a "if he says no" he said "no" to even talking to them.

Which says a TON about how this organization* is viewed in the league... This isn't a top choice of players or coaches any more.

This is what I remember.  Fletcher needed permission from the Blackhawks to talk to Q.  He never asked.  Water under the bridge now.

Fletcher is NOT 2nd or 3rd best. He's an NHL GM for one reason....his dad.

People keep thinking they're hiring Cliff, then Chuck shows up.

I didn’t mean to insinuate Fletcher was 2nd or 3rd best.  I was more referring to the available coaches at that time.

I don't think he was ever not going to go to Detroit.

100% agree.  But at least talk to the guy.  The same thing happened when AV was hired.  Joel Quenneville, (before the sexual assault controversy was known), was available but they didn't even talk to him.  If they at least talk to them and they say they aren't interested, then move on.

Stop settling for second or third best as your first option.
