Vinny at Wing did not work! Injury did not help. Put him at Center which line I don't know but I would try 2nd ans see how it goes. Just don't expect a line like he and St Louis had.
-
In the first 20 games of the season, he scored 14 points, but the Flyers were getting their lunch handed to them while he was on the ice:
CorsiFor% 43.9 (-7.23% relative to teammates)
GoalsFor% 44% (meaning the opposition scored 56% of the goals while he was on the ice)
The only good stretch he had were games 60 thru 69 for him, when the Flyers broke even while he was on the ice. That's a lot of money to pay for a guy whose best run was 9 games of sawing off the opposition.
Thanks for the stats but my point was he played out of position most of the time. You can teach an old dog new tricks but not so much with old hockey players?

VLC played well in he early season. Did not recover very well from an injury. Not sure but I thought he played with back problems most of the season. JMO but I think if they can't make any good moves with him then as somebody else suggested put him back at Center on the 2nd or 3rd line.

They're Girouait apologies to Tony Tiger.

I went on Face Book after the story appeared and asked was this his way of a backward try for a trade?

I think hextall really wanted to be a d-man. Also, the Flyers had him ranked much higher (as high a 7th) on their draft board.
Thanks

I know very little about the Kid from South Philly? why did they go past him to pick the player they did?

I didn't notice Shanahan. What I did notice was the disgusting and ridiculous behavior of the Flyers fans. It was utterly embarrassing
Philly fans do not forget and go too far in their in their bronx cheer. I don't like the Commissioner but I was embarrassed by the continuous boos.
-
Flyers had another 17th pick that turned out to be pretty good.
-
Notice he did not go up to the stage with the entourage, Did not want to hear the Flyer Fans greeting.
-
Yup and both were integral parts of the Flyers reaching lofty heights in the playoffs as well. So what. It is what it is. I could have sworn this horse has been beaten to death so much that even the sire of the horse is starting to get beat.
Two players do not win you a cup. End of discussion.
Our Goalie lost the cup to Chicago. Quick had more to do with the win than Carter. JMO

If I recall we did not resign him so it was a waste.

I have been reading this on several websites. Seems like LA fans realy don't care for him that much. Carter has seemed to thrive in LA but Richy really has dropped off in LA. Philly won that trade hands down. Would we want him if LA buys him out I am on the fence with this one. If philly can get rid of Vinny and have Richy center Scott and Akeson would not be bad.
Maybe we won that trade but letting Williams go was bad when he went to Carolina and it is still bad. Anybody remember what we got for him?

Greetings:
I have a lot of respect for this guy. I think he will get more commitment out his players or have them done away with. Columbus will be no patsy in coming years. I suspect Trotz will get these guys to play a team concept with better D. This is only one more reason we play in what has to be one of the most competitive divisions in all of professional sports.
Best,
Howie You may be right. His GM undermined the team with a lot of bad trades and moves. Not sure of the Caps GM Phlyer1

Carter has always been a goal scorer. He did it in Philly and he does it out west. That does not add up to team player which he was not and it was a trade that was needed. for him and the Flyers. The Prayer says you have to accept the things you have no control over.

Flyers won the Cup and I went to work at Engine 28 s Firehouse Belgrade and Clearfield . Just when the celebration got under way we were sent to Engine 2 at 7Th and Norris because they were out all night on a fire. Nary a sound from the neighborhood which was in North Philly predominately a black area. No I am not a racist merely pointing out they did not bother with Hockey.
-
yay !
how about we see the team win one again, and celebrate that accomplishment.
From your lips to the Hockey God's ear.

Philly loved them because they felt the Flyers were just like so many of the residents Hard working and down to earth.

The original question was who are the Pens fans rooting for today? Answer the Pirates.

Methinks Jeremy has been hanging around Milbury too much and has decided to be a naysayer in his new found role. He should stick to his PR personality and stay away from critiquing .
