@Flyingswede  I would love to see Gus get a legit shot at running the power play. I think he has a lot of room to grow, but the ice time has to increase, as well as the pp time. It would be a real good idea to see what we *really* have before trying to fill holes from outside the org....I agree 100%. He shows flashes of brilliance, enough to make me want to see more in different situations.

agree guss is the only d man with wheels on the team he has great upside he needs to be given more chances and responsibility

I can't even watch a game, I have watched about 4 total full games including last season and this season. No I don't root when they win only. The issue is how they are losing not showing any heart, or showing any will to win. I remember watching games in 2007 when they bombed the season, but I saw them trying at least. I would not have an issue with them losing so much, but when they don't' hustle and show any care I have an issue with that. I love watching hockey and these guys get paid millions to play a sport for their career which most of us can only dream of. If these guys were busting their tails every night losing games 2-1 1-0 etc I would not be as mad because if they were showing effort, but just not getting brakes it would be more understandable. You can turn on the game and watch for the 1st 5mins and see how the game will play, and so far they come out flat.

Snider needs to take a look and remove his horse blinders as they are truly an embarrassment of the NHL last night.

God and don't the flyers have 5 or 6 national games on NBC. I hope they put another team in their place.

I'm actually not about the Flyers. It's actually so bad that it's now kind of funny. But the stupidity of the the "but...but..it's early!" people really pisses me off.

I don't know what to think of this. I loved Maxx he was used the wrong way and played on a line of scrubs and overpaid for what he is that the GM's fault for over valuing him, and the coachs fault for playing him the incorrect way. I  am willing to bet they are going to overpay and trade away young players for Dutin Buttfkin just a hunch, or they are holiding up the white flag to its fans we will just play out this season and blow up the team and over pay for free agents as usual.

On a side note I really think G is playing with any  injury or just that he has no linemates but Vinny

Did not see this one coming. Isles a near lock for one of the eight playoff spots now IMHO.

I dunno Isles gave up to much for Vanek and no guarantee he will resign with the Isles and if they don't go deep into the PO they screwed themselves, looks like snow took a lesson from Homer

I really think roo is injurered and flyers are covering it up. you look at him shooting the puck the zip is just not there like yrs past something is wrong with him, just like Richy had wrist issues covered up by the flyers and then traded

I say one thread started about some phantom dive by Crosby (even though Schenn's stick snapped in the process of tripping him).  One thread about a goal review even though the puck was clearly over the line.  One thread about how the league protects Crosby even though he'll spend 2:00 in the box for a borderline high stick while an errant stick from Hartnell that splits his lip and late boarding by Simmons go uncalled.  And last but not least, one thread complaing about a legal hit Kunitz puts on Vinny that will inevitably reference Kunitz's legal hit on Timmonen 5 years ago.

I was excited this season and watching the 1st 3 games now this. I am taking a break this season i have plenty to do than watch this organization anymore. I have been going to flyers games when my pop took me to my 1st game in 87 and a young age of 7. F this team same crap every yr poor team managment over paying old palyers handing out NTC like nobodys bussiness. They take no time to develope young talent they just trade it away and they cant draft worth heck.

Enjoy Ed Snider you have lost a fan for the yr and the for seeable futures unless things change.

i will always be a flyers fan but I need a brake. I will go watch local college kids at my local rink at least they play for the love of the game

Assuming no more trades........hockey-wise (meaning putting aside the contracts' impications for a second), on paper, this team looks better than the one that ended the regular season 2 months ago and missed the playoffs. No doubt about that. But I wonder *how* much better: considerably better or marginally better. I would think with addition of Streit and assuming this defensive corps stays intact (nobidy gets traded) and healthy, te defense also got better.

Getting rid of that headache Bryzgalov and adding Emery to compete with Mason should prove to be good.

Scoring is stil a bit of a question mark to me, though. Again on paper, the Flyers whoudl have enough firepower to score goals at will. But they struggled with that last season. I am looking for big things out of Schenn and Couturier.

same here. I hope Cooter and Schenn shine this year. If the D men stay healthy and play like they are capable of anything can happen.
