Wont piss me off later. Watching it in the next week will annoy the **** out of me. I hate complaining since we are all here because the flyers are our team, but man, i cant stand games like this. Up 2-0 against the best goalie in the league and cant take it home at home. Damn, the more i think about it i might not visit this episode for a year.........

Probably not ready to watch the last installment of this until later this yr. Don't really care to relive this one yet. Anyone else?

Thats funny you say that. I was walking back from the store thinking to myself how many of these smaller, swifter forwards we have. Seems when we dont have them, we get beat by them (sabres when briere was with them) and when we have them we get beat by bigger teams pushing us around. So sick of having the games dictated to us. At any rate, i dont think there was a goal today scored off of corner work for either team. Simmonds, briere, read worked 'hard' down low, but who cares...i dont even think they got a shot on net from all that cycling. If im the rags i let the flyers play behind the net. Man, this team is so frustrating and its so obvious they are in no position to make noise in the playoffs against the rags or bruins. We are clearly outclassed on so many levels

I really dont see how you can have Rinaldo sitting in this game. There isn't one guy who can legitimately answer the bell if Prust or Rupp start taking liberties. Rinaldo might be a middle weight but he is deserving of being out there today based on his willingness to stick up for teammates.

Parts of this discussion are littered about several topics already started so i thought to maybe centralize them. Trading for a D-man: I dont think anything will be done that includes the shedding of salary. The Cap situation is a mess, made even trickier by the real possibility of Carle walking at years end. Personally, i cant see Weber or Suter coming for those reasons. Aaron Ward had it right during the TSN montreal telecast when he said you replace parts of prongers game with trades, not all of pronger...Carolina's Allen or Gleason. This team needs a solid shut down #4 or 5 guy who can spell guys like timmo so they aren't warn down by April. Our core 4 are pretty solid and gus and bordon are worthy of ice time and should improve. For the first time i heard that the cap might go down next yr. (source during a game telecast-cant remember which) and that would really make a clusterfu*k of this team. If thats the case, look for briere to be moved as a salary dump and for NO OTHER REASON. And yes, he would need to agree with it since its NMC. Hartnell despite his penchant for being the second zamboni is one of our few (maybe only?) sizeable winger who bangs and scores so he should come back. This of course hinges on Giroux being healthy and no lingering, career threatening health issues (crossing fingers!) The larger part of this whole cap situation lies with the new CBA coming up. Hopefully, there will be some buy out windows as the last one had where homer can buy himself out of the corner he signed himself into with long contracts for old players...even briz. thoughts???

I like GIroux. A lot. But sorry, Crosby (despite who he might play for) is the best player in the world. Its like when downie was drafted. Holmgren et al said " he is the poor mans rick tocchet" Giroux is kind of like that...without comparisons directly to downie.

As for injuries and working thru a depleted roster- look no further than the penguins of last year with crosby and malkin, but still managing to finish on top

Not sure i agree. They might win, but every team has its share of injuries. A consistent compete level would be nice. Our breakouts thru the neutral zone are atrocious at the moment. Bad dump ins and zero support. These are coachable things but im not sure its a coaching problem. Statistically, this team is doing well (overall standings) so maybe its moot to complain. I just can't stand watching games being dictated to us. Lose when you have left it all on the ice and thats understandable, but lose with excuses and its lame.

How many yrs has it been (how many captains has it been) that this flyers team comes out to start games so unprepared and listless? The injuries are a lame excuse for this game against the rags. With all the hype surrounding the winter classic (and against a hated division rival) you would think it would be a no-brainer for this team to come out with some sort of sustained pressure/forecheck. But, instead its just brutal puck support and zero offensive jam. Weird, considering this is the upper crust of the league in terms of goals scored. Just facking try hard for gods sake! mo

Whats norm to you then? .500? If so, then this team is 6 games ABOVE the norm. I dont know if they are special, but at least the culture and attitude seems to be better....what about yours? (lame penalties aside)

Is it a coincidence that since pronger has come back giroux has been pointless? I didnt see tonights game (florida) but against tampa, giroux seemed to struggle with the puck. Now, im not saying pronger makes him a bad player, but last year Pronger critisized him for trying to be too fancy. Is it possible giroux is not comfortable with someone as imposing as pronger...like he second guesses himself????? Again, if giroux was on tonight i apologize. Just got me to thinking, is all.... Edit: i also have giroux in my pool and really cant afford these pointless nights!

Go. We have a glut of centers on the team, but i can't see any of them being moved. Although he is hot right now, the only player with significant salary that would allow a trade to bring a quality defencemen is Hartnell. If some package was available adding carle or coburn than i would be pretty happy. Return? Sadly, i'm not sure....

I watched this game and i didnt even notice it..nor was it mentioned during the broadcast. After seeing the nhl video on the reasoning why, its clear and further makes the point, that kaleta is a complete douchebag. Way to go battering ram.
