  1. He has to say that to support the Flyers if we are gonna trade with them. It's not so good to bash the other team if you want players from them.
  2. @brelic It can be done but they have alot of rfa and ufa to resign. I honestly think their gm says that they will spend to cap to get these 2 to resign but it's just a smoke screen to keep the Preds fan base happy. I think they will trade 1 of those guys at the trade deadline if not sooner.
  3. @ I agree with you that they need to clear the porch more but it's not on Lavy, it's the players that must do it. The coaches can only teach so much but the players must execute. I only see 3 guys right now that can do that, Coburn, Mez and Bourdon. I wish Coburn plays with a nastier streak but he doesn't do it consistently or you see it once in a long while when he's piss. That's why I want Weber here, he's the total package. To me Weber is Pronger and Suter is Timonen. Suter is a good no.1 but he's another Timonen which I don't think is good, unless we go out and somehow get another 1 or 2 mean and nasty dman that can get the job done right.
  4. @brelic Part of it is money, the other part is that those 2 guys want to see a commitment to winning. Nashville needs to somehow bring in offensive players for them to resign. I don't see how that can be done without trading 1 of them for that.
  5. @doom88 Fail where? That's right on his GAA and Save %. What more can you ask for?
  6. Who's Carter? And what does high and wide mean? Haven't heard that term for so long I forget. It's amazing how he's playing so far and I still can't believe he drop to us, atleast some things work out great for us.
  7. @brelic I think Weber is worth the price and salary. I say he's the package that we have been looking for. Young, going into his prime, PP QB, righthanded shot, plays physical and logs big minutes. I think he would sign a deal similiar to Doughty. As for salaries to work JVR's 4mil cap hit next year plus Carle or Jagr should cover it, after next season Timo's cap hit comes off and we should be more flexable to get whatever else we need.
  8. Yes he hits more then Coburn but he's as inconsistent as Coburn now and I don't want 2 of them on the same team. Coburn is enough to get me going already lol. I just don't see how Schenn can improve here as we have Coburn, Mez and Carle that can't get it togther here. I want a solid or establish dman not one base on potential if we're giving up JVR.
  9. I don't see a Hatcher in him, more like Coburn.
  10. @idahophilly I agree with you IP, this might be the best injury so far. I wouldn't want to trade JVR for any dman besides Weber/Suter, was worried as heck that he would be ship for lesser value. Now that he's sitting out with a concussion, maybe he can atleast get alittle healthier with other injuries we don't know about.
  11. Don't agree with that assestment of our goalies. Yes Bryz played against better teams but would he have won against the Canes and Isles? I don't think we pull out a W in those 2 games. Bryz has been given chances to be the no.1 goalie but he has failed so far, I know this is early but this is reminding me of Nitty. Given every situation to nail down the starting job but can't. As for Bob, we have seen what he's capable of last season and so far this season. Bob has outplayed the 51mil bum and deserves to run with the job until he falters. I don't blame Bob for the playoff performance, he was a rookie and played in more games then he was acustomed to. It's not like he was a highly touted prospect like Price or MIller and if it wasn't for Bob standing out last season our goalies would've been Leighton and Boucher. Would you think we have had as much success in the first half of the season with those 2? For now I think Lavy will play the goalie that gives us a better chance to win every night, it's not the right time to let Bryz find his game. If he does let Bryz find his game, a losing streak of 4-5 games can have us on the outside looking in. Just my 2 cents.
  12. Oh HELL NO!!!!!!!! Let Bryz enjoy his tea on the bench until Bob falters then maybe he can earn his job back.
  13. @doom88 Forget Tkachuk, we have LeClair. Would be nice if JVR can be half of what Johnny was. I would hate to trade JVR for Schenn but hope Homer fleece Burke if that does happen.
  14. Will we see a Flyers/Isles brawl like the Pens/Isles? Would be fun to watch.
  15. Not at the expense of our young forwards ice time. I like Betts and his hard work since he's been here but it's time for us to move on.
  16. @Spinorama Let them fight it out to see who's boss. They both are good at taking a pounding so it shouldn't hurt much at all.
  17. @Vanflyer We don't have our 2nd rd pick, TB has it for the Mez trade.
  18. Since you put it this way, I feel the same about Briere. We aren't expecting to win the Cup this year and next. Why not move him now while he has value, we can really remake our d if he's moved, I wouldn't mind at all as we have a nice young f group plus it will free cap space to resign them once their ELC expires.
  19. @JackStraw Yes but if that wasn't a natinally sporting event, this would just happen to be another assault just like any other.
  20. @mojo1917 I meant a key acquisition. Didn't Hamhuis make it clear he was gonna go on the FA market? Homer gave it a shot to try to convince him to sign here and didn't give up anything of value.
  21. Yes but it would not have been settled this quickly or become important enough for them to find the assailant. The media coverage pushed this to the forefront and was just important as the victim is a cop and vet. If it was a regular citizen, I would think they can careless as there's alot of assaults that happens everyday in a big city.
  22. You know Homer will find a way to sign a extension if he does trade for Suter/Weber. When has Homer not resign a player he trades for?
  23. @phlfly Exactly, this is how this country is run which is BS.
