Miller Time

Foligno could be staying. Not just because of his big goal. But now Matt Ellis who has been a hard worker is out with a lower body injury.

Great game by the kid. I just looked at the schedule and I love our chances. Winnipeg gets Dallas next. Have fun with that. And Wash has to go to Philly soon. We have home games twice vs Montreal, Colorado, Minnesota. Not that anything is easy but I like our chances big time now. And I would not be surprised if Florida gets knocked out completely. Someone has to win that lousy division. Still thiink the conference set up is more fair. Now we cheer for the Leafs tomorrow.

Mathemtically its not a must win but its still big. We could really put ourselves in good shape with a win tonight. It will not be easy and I am really shocked Ottawa has been so good. I hope Vanek is a go. Last year he had a 4 goal game in there. We need him to step up. If he is a no go Foligno has already been notified he will be called up from Rochester. My gut feeling is Foligno is on a plane now.

This Ottawa game will be no picnic. We need it. They played last night and we are there waiting for them so maybe that will help?

They can make it for sure. Tonight is a tough one though and a win tonight would be huge. I do not like the way Tampa or Wash are playing. Both have been horrendous. The Sabres have played better of those teams mentioned above with the exception of Winnipeg at home. But they have alot of road games. Just lost two straight. And I expect more. If Miller continues to play well the key will be guys like Hodgson finding the net and Boyes. Vanek if healthy will get his. So will Pommer and Roy. Stafford I just do not know. I am for getting rid of him after the season. I have pretty much had it with him.

All of a sudden the Blue Jackets are beating some good teams. I have to go look it up but I believe they have won three straight? What is going on? I do see them here and there on Center Ice and am impressed with their fans and their support of the team. Sooner or later it will pay dividends and they will make the playoffs one of these years. I am thinking Nash is going to stay put?

I agree on McNabb. And on Hecht. I just read the McCormick update in the Buffalo News. What a trade off, him for Vanek against Ottawa. That sucks. I hope Thomas is ready. We need him. Miller has to stone them tomorrow. We played a good game until the tying goal and give away. I still say Hodgson gave it away. But Enroth is not at fault. We got robbed blind three times when we were up 1-0 and especially the one by Boyes. A one time blast that Thomas caught. Lots of fighting on the Buffalo news today. The Canucks regulation victory over Winnipeg sure helped us out Cory Hodgson sure did not. His turnover gave Boston the equalizer in a game we had under control. Enroth had stoned them on a break away and I believe if not for Hodgsons lazy give away, we would have won. This kid has to realize he is not in ****** Kansas anymore. He has to put some extra effort in. We invested alot in him by giving up Kassian. At least I think we did. Still, the kid has 16 goals and 33 assists and that is pretty damn good for a rookie. Now he must score as a Sabre. Hopefully against an old enemy on Saturday. I hope Darcy uses the draft pick to get some kid that is a pure goon. Someone to go after Boychuk and Lucic both and put them out of commision. I do not know who put the hit on Marchant but he was hurt. Nice job whoever. I bet it was Kaleta? Tropp is a big guy and capable too. Myers they do not want in the box for fighting. I do not know what is going on with McCormick and Hecht but I think its more than just the injuries. McCormick supposedly has concussion symptoms. I do not think he would play even if healthy. Hecht they probably would put in there? Unless they have given up on him? He has been gone a long time now. I hope Sekera is back soon. He is better than the kid from Vancouver even though he did not play bad. Sekera brings alot more to the table. Then there is McNabb down in Rochester. This kid is going to be a good one. Question is we are so loaded on defense, will we deal one of them to get more scoring? Most likely yes. I have to go see if Vanek is ok. I sure hope so.

Come on now. Leino is playing very well. I am waiting for Hodgson to have a break out game. We played a pretty good game and did not get the breaks. Thomas robbed Boyes blind on one and Enroth though he played well, Miller never gives up those last two.

According to fat boy Harrington at Buffalo News best Sabres can do is 9th tonight because of tie breakers. Who cares. if we win we are one step closer. He says we must win 8 seed outright or we lost tie breakers. We can do it

Actually is was 6-0. And you can go back over the last seven or eight years and see our record against them. Very very good. We have always played them tough. If that stupid *** Butler who is now in Calgary had not cost us the Philly series last year, we would have given them hell. I expect to give them hell tonight.

Cap jail for us thanks to Edmonton jacking up Vanek's salary. But Miller is worth every penny. Those two draft picks Darcy has some bargaining power with. Could trade them for a star?

I wonder if Enroth will get the call tonight? For two reasons. To rest Miller and they may feel they do not want to take a chance of any crazy stuff, and wind up without Miller for the rest of the year. If Boston plays dirty we must too. Run Thomas. This Don Cherry thing really has heated up. The latest Bleacher Report and news from Canada is that Burke hung up on a radio host this morning and he took on Cherry on his comments about the Leafs not drafting Ontario bred players. According to Burke they drafted 8 from Ontario in recent draft. Cherry likes to stir the kettle that is for sure. I would wonder what would happen if these two were in a room together? Burke has said the Leafs chances of making the playoffs this year are not good. He stands by the firing of Wilson and hiring of Carlysle. I just can't see how this is all setting in with the Leafs players. They had to feel bad for Wilson one would think? I believe Wilson will land on his feet somewhere next year. The circus in Toronto continues.

Are you saying you would rather have Ovetchkin than Rick Nash? I strongly disagree. Ovetchkin goes to sleep when the going gets tough. He only cares about the money I am starting to believe. He and Crosby are no longer the poster boys they once were. I believe those days are gone. I am wondering how good of a draft crop there is this year. Washington will want a ton for him if they even consider trading the jerk. I know he has talent, but I would not want him on my team.

I for one did not like the moves San Jose made in the off season and its costing them now. Sedaguchi (sorry if I mispelled) they should have kept. Dominic Moore is a waste. He came to Buffalo for a short time from the Leafs. He actually played over his head in Tampa but did not stay there. He can skate but that is it. He pretty much skates around where the puck is looking for it to come to him. No physical play from him, they can have him. He would be a good AHL player and that is where he belongs.
