@trevluk Just watching a show called "That's Hockey" on TSN in Canada, and they said Doan has given a deadline of Friday for the Coyotes to get their ownership thing worked out. They said there were 16 teams interested in him and he was going to tell the teams that he was not interested in them so they could move on. They also said that they could see Doan continuing to drag out his signing with someone until the Phoenix Ownership thing is figured out.

I was listening to a radio sports show out of Toronto...can`t remember the name right now. They talked to a minority owner named Wilson who is sometimes on the TV show Dragon`s Den which is the Canadian version of The Shark Tank. He said that it was never in doubt that they would match it, and with Suter not signing with them it made it even more of a sure thing that they would sign Weber. He said at one point Nashville offered Weber 104 million, so really they weren`t that far out of the ballpark. I feel better knowing that we never had a chance to begin with.

Hate to sound immature, childish and petty, but I hope Nashville goes **** up. SIGN VORACEK now. Sign Doan as well. No stupid deal for Ryan. And with all the money the Flyers saved....Free Cheesesteaks for everyone!!

Do u think that Nashville would take into consideration that he doesn`t want to be in Nashville and they will have an unhappy guy in the dressing room....thats if what is being said about that is true, which I believe it is. Weber is still pissed about having to go to arbitration and the whole mismanagement of the signing of Suter and Weber before they got to this stage of things.

I am thinking though Poile might be ``once bitten twice shy``. If he basically got caught up in this drama before and basically lost, he may be thinking more of himself then the franchise. That is what I am worried about.

So if no Weber then what. This is like having the winning lottery ticket and then losing it. What moves do we make then. Talk about a huge letdown. We have to move forward with the defense group that we have. I think they are a competant bunch...but man....Weber.....this will suck so bad if we lose him. If we lose him do we lose Doan as well. Do we trade for Ryan. Do we go from fixing our defense to added more offense. Does that even make sense. This is HUGE!

This wait is driving me nuts. I hate to be the negative on here......but the long wait is a bad thing in my opinion. How stupid will Nashville look if it takes them this long to say NO. That is why I am bit nervous. Anyone feel the same way?

If we end up with nobody after all these offers, then I think we should overpay a bit to get a guy like Doan. He could be hugely important this year.

From my memory, teams normally jump on it immediately and say they are matching. You normally want to give the impression immediately that you are saying "in your face", we are matching so go pound sand. In my opinion if they have to wait this long then Nashville is having some uncertainty as to what they are doing or can do. I guess this is obvious though.

Arnott anybody? I guess I will edit my original post since nobody bit on it. Jason Arnott 6'5" 220 lbs Consistant 20-30 goal scorer over his career. Had 17 last year. Could replace Jagr's goals. I think he would be a good veteran addition. This only if we don't get Doan, which doesn't look too good now.

Sounds like someone that we know very well. Cut from a few teams. Not drafted in 2 OHL drafts, not offered a tryout by any OHL team. Offered a walk on tryout by Gatineau in a different League....and as they say the rest is history....Mr Claude Giroux.

He is a bit expensive and I wouldn't want to give up what Calgary would probably want. We could wait one year and pick him up for nothing and for less of a cap hit. He would be an awesome guy to have though.
