  1. Don't say bile. See above.
  2. That's why I voted "no". Because I'm already drunk.
  3. I agree, but Jagr's been a turnover machine too.
  4. I wouldn't sit Jagr, but I'd move Voracek up to G's line for 5 on 5. Jagr can stay on the powerplay but his 5 on 5 minutes have to be reduced if he can't keep up. I thought I was the only one who thought he looked REALLY slow these playoffs. I don't foresee or want him to be re-signed. He's fulfilled his purpose here and then some, but he's looking too old to gobble up minutes that a younger guy can take (next year).
  5. Yeah, the 9 PM faceoffs are tough even for us Central Time Zone folks. You're right about Kopitar.
  6. Caught a bit of it last night. The Kings pp was moving the puck as well as I've ever seen
  7. Call me crazy, but Wellwood is going to get 3 goals this series. The only Devil's that have a remote chance of keeping up with him are Parise and Henrique. There were some shifts when he looked twice as fast as any Devil out there. He's so due for a goal even though that's not his role. He's going to be a premiere penalty killer one day.
  8. Great shift by JVR on the winner. He came to play today.
  9. What Carkner did to Boyle is no different than what Boyle did to Karlsson, so why wasn't Boyle suspended for punching an unwilling "combatant"? Just wondering.
  10. According to head coach Dan Bylsma, D Paul Martin is out for Game 4 and D Zbynek Michalek is expected to be a game time decision. D Simon Depres is likely to draw in for Martin. - TSN Projected Lines vs. Flyers: Forwards: Kunitz - Malkin - Kennedy Sullivan - Crosby - Dupuis Cooke - Staal - Tangradi Jeffery - Vitale - Park Defence: Letang - Engelland Orpik - Niskanen Lovejoy - Depres That Pens defense is of the icky variety for sure.
  11. It has crossed my mind. Pronger too.
  12. Brutal hit by Torres. I do wonder what goes through a player's mind (I'm talking to you Duncan Keith) when you see your own player take a brutal head shot less than a month after you dished one that was even dirtier).
  13. I think Jagr's effectiveness will increase when we move on to tighter (and therefore slower) series. He looks to be the slowest guy out there, but it has been stoopid fast. Still very effective on the powerplay. Lavi is doing a great job of utilizing his players to their and the team's greatest benefit. Having said that, I would love to see more of Giroux, Hartnell and Voracek in the upcoming years.
  14. Oops. Sorry wrong link. What were we talking about again?
  15. Let's hope so. He's not exactly John O' Hurley at the best of times in interviews (and I could care less about that) so I'm not sure how much stock I put in that, but his knees were wobbling after the attack and he's way too good a skater to look like that. All these guys need as much rest as they can get so a sweep is paramount.
  16. I don't want Giroux fighting. I'm concerned he will even play on Wednesday unless concussion protocols are tossed aside for the playoffs. The admirable problem for the Flyers is they keep skating through the BS as opposed to the Pittsburgh Diving Team and therefore don't draw as many minors and do even worse on subsequent discipline. G's brains were scrambled there and that's a scary thing. I give him credit for the Gordie Howe hattrick, though.
  17. I formed my opinion on the Couts and Giroux hits while the play was happening. I initially gave Neal a pass on the Couts hit because it was kind of bang band (the replay is not nearly as kind). As bad as it looks (and it is malevolent hit) on replay, players have talked themselves out of suspensions on those hits before. The Giroux hit, however, was dirty, cheap and dangerous and has absolutely no reasonable explanation to back up the action. I expect a one game suspension, but want 3. A fine will simply not cut it.
  18. If I were the Jets, I would ask about Malkin. The Jets have some good blueline depth, good draft picks, prospects and a lot of cap room. I hate Malkin, but the Jets could really use a #1 like him.
  19. There's a quota for positive votes!!?? For the record, I agree with everyone who calls Crosby a classless, whiny, (rhymes with) crunt.
  20. @Bertmega If it was a backbreaker, the backs would have broke. I was swearing at him when it happened, but he's still been making some really important stops. I think the Flyers have figured out what it takes to win this series and the next series will have an altered plan dependent on who we play. It will account for the Flyers' strengths so it won't be a huge departure, but it will also consider the opponent's strenths and weaknesses. Wow, really going out on a limb there, C2L! I guess I just save my angst for the time between the opening puck drop and the final whistle. I'm pretty happy with wins in the playoffs no matter how they happen.
  21. If neutral = passive aggressive, then maybe.
