Historically, Flyers don't draft D-man in 1st round, and I don't blame them for this, because D-man development is taking like 4--6 years, so by that time it's easy trade like that trade JVR for Shenn. And also Matta is not Pronger so center is safe way for pick, center can play right or left wing, penalties killing unit.

why a such hype about Shenn?

I think it could be next Carle. Flyers org is known for quitting on players too early, this is reason they have not won anything since 70's.

I would wait with JVR and may be go ahead trade him for someone like Getzlaf.

It may look crazy to you, but about 4 years ago I listen XM with Espo, and he said, most originations (owner and ect) are not looking to win a cup, but made at least two playoff rounds, because it's much profitable able then Stanley cup, because a lot bonuses due to pay and it's not just players all people who is working for hockey club.

Ov will not go anywhere, he brought fans to Verizon center, but not Hunter or Chris Boudroe (?) for this matter.

The only this org is profitable because Ov is playing for Caps. 100's different licenses plates with OV and number 8. All kids rock red with Ovechkin on their t-shirt. Hunter will gone sooner or later, I betcha team will give up on him and by December new coach for Caps.

i think if timmonen's minutes are managed to where he's 3rd pairing he can be really effective. in spite of his injuries, he was still pretty decent, i know brain cramp passing to bryzgalov, but that guy can cover the puck or pass to carle... i would like to see 44 retire a flyer if possible, i think the team can throw money at a difference maker & mobile top 4 guy. so the top 4 would be grossmann, coburn ( who was a monster in the PO's this year ) mezaros, and free agent x, then third paring of timmonen and gus or MAB keeps timmonen fresh and effective, he can still be around to play point on the pp... i don't think timo is done yet.

Yes 3rd pair at most. That's a problem, most defense guys are not playing thier real role. Flyers don't have a real number one pair. It's all gone back 2-3 years ago, when Timmo was younger and Pronger had played for Flyers and was healthy. So I think if Flyers drop him and go to get Sutter, that could be a real Number one defense guy. Because you can find 3rd pair defensman easy.
