  1. To say a person's take on the subject matter, or opinion (same thing I suppose), is "ridiculously judgemental" is, well, judgemental. By reverse, a person could say your take is, blind naivete. There are fans who will love Flyer players no matter what they do. Perhaps this is you. I know it used to be me. Then there are fans who will criticize for a myriad of reasons, all usually based on some level of emotional disappointment (prolly me now). Neither are wrong That said, I disagree with your premise here. I don't think anyone is saying, "they should all walk around hung dog", or that the "organization should all chanting monastically" as suggested by Sister whoever. I think the message is a lot of us fans are tired of being fed BS, and listening to players and execs delivering the normal hockey tropes to explain what is obvious mediocrity on ice. If anyone is loyal enough to continue being a fan of this organization, and accepting what the product on ice is, more power to them. For me, like I've heard so many others lament, watching this crap is unbearable, and we are turning it off. After spending all of my life rooting for this team, finding myself this disinterested is really disappointing. Its left a void where I used to have enjoyment. How sad for me (self loathing) But, since I am an armed services veteran, and avid hater of all other teams in the NHL, I find myself in the unique position of rooting for the Islanders, simply becasue of that fan anthem event that recently took place
  2. Is Cote Irish? I swear, I never saw a Flyer tough guy take so many punches to the face. He's got to have some long term lingering issues from that. Isn't he employed by the Flyers in some role? That's proof right there
  3. SHe looks like Riley Cote after his nightly two minutes of game time
  4. by the same token, you're pushing it as "steak and shrimp", diminishing it to fit your narrative what he said was, "I still remember AV (Vigneault) coming in,” Scott said. “We all went to Prague to start the season and won. We came back and had a big celebration with ownership and really the front office, the players, the coaching staff and significant others. He talked about a new era with the Flyers. We’ve all bought into that." taking in the totality of circumstances, that sounds like he's pushing it as big thing to make his point
  5. fair point. I agree. But in this case, referencing having a "big" celebration for a meaningless win is on par with celebrating Scott Laughton leading the team in playoff scoring it doesn't get you very far
  6. This was exactly my point and why I started the thread
  7. we offer it to both, they will accept, switch lockers then go into long term covid protocol
  8. @mojo1917 wash...rinse...repeat....blame the pandemic! yada...yada...yada

  10. I would say, it we trade either, that is the first step to establishing a "winning culture"
  11. I doubt we could successfully trade JVR for Patrick
  12. i looked at all three, every game I watched. I wasn't impressed. The coach should have gotten in their a$$. Are they too fragile to be criticized?
  13. I kinda guessed. Then he said AV made comments about York and Allison that, quite frankly, if accurate, I don't see as negative. I mean, what's a coach supposed to say, "Allison will be on the first line anchoring our PP next season?", "York is a future Norris candidate?" If so, then there our members of our forum that are just as qualified to be head coach, as AV is. The coach is not the problem. Two decades of the same 'ol crap is indicative of that. Hell, even the comments given on this topic cite examples of players "quitting" on coaches. No, the Flyers have sent a message that the coach is staying. So like him or not, calling for his resignation is like pissing in a fan.
  14. i really have no comprehension of this "team" concept you are mentioning. Is that a thing in hockey?
