I just read this. Geez, I realize things are far different now that they have cleaned house. Regier is gone and so is Vanek which means its a full house cleaning. I never thought they would deal Vanek. But so far it looks like the Islanders lost that one. We are sitting on a ton of picks. Just have to suffer through a miserable year and hope Pat hires the right GM to use these picks wisely. Trade some for sure for proven talent. But cash some in on young talent. This is the first time in over a decade the Leafs have been better than us. But does that mean a hill of beans? No. Where are they going? No where.

I am only saying Miller is a great goalie and anyone would have to give up some nights under these horrid circumstances. We do not know who Pat is going to hire to fix this. I do believe that we can fix it with all of those picks and building around about 5 or 6 guys we currently have. you really beat us 3-1 and you got a few bounces in the 2nd. If you are happy with your team you are making a big mistake. You know as well as I do the Flyers need alot of changes also. We at least are admitting it and I gaurantee you big big changes are coming. I stand by my take on Miller. Its not his fault. He has been peppered with over 45 shots a night.

I would still rather be sitting in our position moving forward with 17 top draft picks coming up. The big picture is far better for Buffalo than it is for philly. You are not going to beat a team like St Louis or Chicago. You know it. So nice win on home ice for the goon squad villains.

We played the Flyers tonight for the record. And the cupboard is not completely empty with a boat load of top draft picks. First we get a GM. Then the moves come

Boys is exactly right. I just watched Derrick Roy beat the Bruins. Pommenville is having a great year. Our stars are all gone thanks to Regier. So now I have to watch who they draft. Its a lineup with a handfull of vets with a bunch of guys that will be on a bus next year. Not that you are going much farther

I just have to say, are you from Tampa? Or a transplanted northerner? My money says you are from the North? Most Tampa fans are. They go to Florida to escape the nasty winters, and when the Sabres are winning, many times there are as many blue and gold jersey's in the stadium as home team fans. Florida is not really a place where hockey originated or was really big. Just like California. But of course there are tons of Canadiens buying up land like crazy down there. My in laws are in Ocala and my family are in Ft Lauderdale area. I love Florida. I do not love their teams. As for tonight, I do not think the Sabres are big underdogs against a team with its own major problems. Maybe they think all is well now? They would be mistaken

An excellent take on this and of course the Flyers faithful here will not agree with you. But you are a smart cookie on the subject of hockey. While I have you, are you a bit surprised your Tampa team has done so well? I did not like their chances in LA as they had that long flight and usually the first game on a coast trip is not good for the traveler. I am not sure how good Tampa really is? I almost forgot LeCavelier is now a Flyer. That should have helped them out a ton making it more of a head scratcher why they have had so much trouble scoring until their recent return to being a force. Is it real? Or an anomaly? We shall see. But if the Sabres work, they can make a game of it.

I was listening to XM Sirius with Phil Esposito and they were discussing in length the search in Buffalo and Pat LaFontainne's search for a GM. Many names came up and even Wayne Gretsky who I guess has some interest. His father still goes to Sabres games and he went to many as a kid watching the French Connection. So Buffalo has a place in his heart. Messier? Not sure. I would prefer Gretsky if one of those were chosen but Dudley to me makes the most sense. I expect we will know something before Xmas. But I guess you never know. Whoever it is has a bundle to work with. He will have alot fo picks to mull over. And decisions as to who is gone and who stays. Here are some of my thoughts Stay: Ott, Ennis, Hodgeson, Erhoff, Psyck, Myers, Gone: Stafford, Leino, Weber, McBain, Tropp, Tallinder On the Fence: McCormick, Flynn Ryan Miller Of course I am not includiing the very young guys that just came in like Zadorov or Armia in this. I think Foligno and Girgensons are locks to stay and have earned it. I am really impressed with Girgensons.

The Sabres have sent rookie defenseman Zadarov to Jrs and Grigorenko, Ristolainen and Larsson were all sent down to the AHL. Zadarov will play for the London Knights

His days in Buffalo are numbered. Do not think Nolan is not aware of his incompetence. Why did Regier put so much faith in him? Because he was lucky enough to score the goal that won you that series? After Ennis gave us the 3-2 lead, you guys were trembling. But you will never admit it. You were five minutes from being eliminated and then that bone head Butler that is in Calgary now did us in with that penalty. When Nolan was here we knocked you guys out. I know we are going to be good very soon. We have too many top picks not to be. But you guys? You better fire than numb nuts GM and the sooner the better
