According to the stereotype, Russian hockey players are all soft. Unwilling to stand up for themselves. Lacking in toughness. It's not true, and if this video is any indication, the next generation of Russian hockey players should do away with the stereotype for good. These 10-year-olds don't take no guff.

Put together by Russian site NK-TV (via Reddit), what follows is a compilation of the mayhem between two teams of 10-year-olds from Moscow and Novokuznetsk. The youth teams met on Sunday, Nov. 25, with the club from Moscow (the Polar Bears) earning a 3-o win when the game was called early, due to all the fighting:

Amazing. The only thing this collection of boy fights is missing is a Baby Buster short.

My favourite moment comes at 2:47 when the official is attempting to separate two Polar Bears from a Metallurg player and the Metallurg goaltender tries to join the fray. Instead, he gets absolutely stiff-armed by the frustrated official, and down he goes.

Granted, he goes down pretty easily. When you think about it, the fact that the 10-year-olds are still a little shaky on their skates is a more effective means of violence prevention than the officials.

Good thing that wasn't the Polar Bears goalie, by the way, because I think he might be the son of Ron Hextall. That kid is tough. Watch the moment when he snaps on a Metallurg forward jabbing him at the side of the goal and pummels him before throwing his stick and skating away.

And what an incredible visual it is when the officials call the game and the kids spill out of the penalty boxes like lemmings on their way to the sea.
