The Rangers have Boston banged up and with 3 starting D men out and still, going to OT. The Rangers are the most underachieving team in hockey when you consider their talent. They should have fired Tortorella months ago. He gets no credit for them being here. With their money and roster how can they not be here? I think the message that we can take from this is that some of the young defensemen coming out of college are ready to get NHL ice-time. Sometimes it is the player mix more than the coach. The loss of a player such as Prust can make a difference. IMO some teams just don't give enough emphasis to their fourth line, those teams with a strong fourth line tend to take pressure off the scoring lines.
