TretiakCCCP20
As you all know the Red Wings take on the Sabres tonight. Seaon opener for both of these teams and the home opener for Detroit. The big change this year is Detroit's move to the Eastern conference. That being said these two teams will start playing each other much more often because of the conference shuffling. Just would like to get everybody's thoughts on the game and any predictions on who might come out on top and who will make a big impact in the game. yave1964
Just one game in a long season. Nothing important, just another game. That said I wanna kick them Sabre's butts!
TretiakCCCP20
@yave1964 It's the first game of the season. It has to hold some importance lol.
yave1964
It is important no doubt as it is our first game in a new conference however it is not life and death and is just two points one way or another. But the opener can set the tone. Last year the Blues dismantled us in the opener 6-0 with Backes running rough shod, destroying Jan Mursak and ruining the kids final shot at the NHL by knocking him out for most of the season (HE moved on to the KHL this offseason) and sending us in to a win one, lose one funk that lasted most of the season. So yeah, a nice start would be great. My prediction Redwings 5 Sabres 2 Edited October 2, 2013 by yave1964
hf101
@yave1964 In other words it isn't how you start, but how you finish.
