Chicago Hawkie Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 This is the first meeting between these teams this season, so I am not quite sure how to guage this matchup. No matter what the Predators' won/loss record is, they always manage to play a tough game against the Hawks. It will be the first of back-to-back games for the Hawks (the second is against the Shaaaarks), so I hope it will be a solid win for Chicago. Quote
yave1964 Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 Hawks oughta win in a romp. Pekka Rinne went down and Carter Hutton stepped in and at first played fine then he remembered he is Carter Hutton and they have sucked ever since. They are essentially done already, losing Rinne ruined that team completely. 1 Quote
yave1964 Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 @Chicago Hawkie BTW Hawkie I just traded Varlamov for Patrick Sharp, I have been loaded in net and needed a forward. Thoughts on Sharp? I know he has been hot lately..... Quote
Chicago Hawkie Posted November 17, 2013 Author Posted November 17, 2013 @yave1964 Sharp has been doing very well lately, scoring some key goals. I think your fantasy team will do well with Sharpie. Rinne has been, to quote Arturs Irbe "like wall" against the Hawks in the past, so him being out iis a game-changer. Quote
Chicago Hawkie Posted November 17, 2013 Author Posted November 17, 2013 Well, this isn't going as planned ... Nashville is leading after the first period, 2-0, so they scored as many goals this period as they did in their last 4 games. It looked like Nashville was in the Hawks' zone for the majority of the 1st period. To top that off, Nikolai Khabibulin left the game with an injury, so there'll be no break for Crow tonight after all. Quote
Chicago Hawkie Posted November 17, 2013 Author Posted November 17, 2013 (edited) Not looking good ... The Predators are still outshooting us and have increased their lead. Predators goalie Marek Mazanec, who was brought in for this game because of Pekka Rinne going down, is standing on his head. That's the thing about sports ... it can be so unpredictable ... UGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! Edited November 17, 2013 by Chicago Hawkie Quote
Chicago Hawkie Posted November 17, 2013 Author Posted November 17, 2013 @yave1964 Yeah, this one was a definite "What the heck?". Although ... you never known how it's going to go when the team is facing a goalie they've not met before. It's like that game vs. the Flames almost 2 weeks ago when Reto Berra came in and had a good game against the Blackhawks. Quote
Chicago Hawkie Posted November 17, 2013 Author Posted November 17, 2013 There's still hope!! Brandon Pirri just scored! It's now 4-2! Brandon Saad and Hawks newcomer/oldcomer Kris Versteeg had a hand in this one ... Quote
Chicago Hawkie Posted November 17, 2013 Author Posted November 17, 2013 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! Viktor Stahlberg just burned his former team! Darn it darn it ... how could you do this to us, Stahlie?? Quote
Chicago Hawkie Posted November 17, 2013 Author Posted November 17, 2013 Well, this was unfortunate ... I know the Predators can be tough to play against, but a 7-2 loss?? If anyone would have told me that this is how it would end, I would have laughed ... Was Hornqvist a boulder in front of the Hawks' net or what? Quote
Chicago Hawkie Posted November 17, 2013 Author Posted November 17, 2013 One more note ... When I called my dad and brother in Michigan to tell them how it was going, I could hear my brother mocking me in the background ... Quote
