US Olympian from the miracle on ice team in 1980 and former nhler Mark Pavelich was found dead in a treatment facility yesterday at the age of 63.

Pavelich had the primary assist on the Euruzione goal that won the game for the USA which was one of the most iconic goals of all time. He played a bit in the NHL for the Rangers and North Stars before finishing up his career with the expansion Sharks.

Later years have not been kind to him. His wife died young and he sold his Gold Medal for a quarter of a million in 2014. He has battled his demons with mental illness in recent years.

Head Coach  Herb Brooks passed away in 2003 but Pavelich is the second player of the Miracle team to pass away after defenseman Bob Suter.
