Why the bleap would Berube put a defenseman in the shoot out, especially Timonen.

Where was Voracek, Simmer, Harts or Couturier? At least these players know what to do at the net.

You guys are hard on Couts who is only 20yrs old. His defensive play is the best on the team he just needs to put a few in the net as well.

Flyers have a good PK because of Couturier as well.

Could the Flyers package Hartnell and Cousins with maybe a 2nd rounder(2015) for Eberle. 

I would say Simmonds but his presence in front of the opponents net is a must.

It looks to me that the Oilers are looking for a veteran player to guide their youth.

You want 2 solid players and 2 up and coming prospects plus 2 picks for Subban? and another nobody center the Flyers don't need.

Buddy at least throw in a player like Max Pacioretty or somewhat similar, you're asking waaaaay too much for a RFA status player like Subban who wants a huge salary.

I always laugh when players get benched people jump to the conclusion they are to be traded, if that was the case half the Rangers team would have been gone last year when Torts was benching players. Berube message is quite clear, play or sit.

Unfortunately Jagr is signed with Devils and is in the midst of helping that team get it together. Gagne isn't signed and probably would only cost the Flyers a mil to sign him for the year, cheap if he brings the Flyers some leadership and scoring.

Won't help Giroux's game at all by stripping the ''C'' from him, what's done is done. What I can't believe is there is 2 guys on this team that have worn the ''C'' on other teams and can't help G with his captaincy and leadership. ie. Lecavalier and Streit. Maybe Pronger should go into the dressing room and pop some heads.

Briere is going to be another Gomez for the Habs. Not missing Briere at all, the only time he showed up to play was in the post season.

I agree with your post.  And this is not a knock on Schenn, by why in the world is he making $3.6M as a "project?"   I know that's not on him.  He signed what he was offered, and maybe he's offered that elsewhere.  But just saying:  $3.6M for a "project" is absurd.

I believe the Leafs signed him to that contract and the Flyers took it over when we traded JVR for Schenn. Still a bad contract for a non-proven D man.

Flyers could use a veteran forward(other than Lecav) like they had in Jagr, maybe it was stupid of Homer to let Gagne walk.

Could Gagne be a cheap answer?

I'm really surprised that Meszaros hasn't asked to be traded, if I were a veteran sitting in the press box that would piss me off.

Its hard not to have Coburn on the ice when an opposing team scores, he logs the most minutes for D men.

Flyers could get a younger defenseman like Cody Franson that puts up the same numbers, is 2 yrs younger and is seeking around $4mil a year.

Franson wouldn't necessarily require a trade either because he is a RFA at end of season.

If we trade don't trade to win now trade to drop salary and get younger:

I agree with Hartnell but he does have a NTC in place. (unless he wants to go)

Emery is costing very little and will do his backup role.(solid when he needs to be)

Mezsaros has to go, no to Coburn because of the mins this guy plays. (Mez isn't worth 4+mil a year)

The Flyers already did a rebuild in 2011. This team needs focus on offense and scoring, maybe a key trade needs to made but that's it.

Are you being sarcastic?  This offense will "clikc" once in a while and then go through droughts.  They will no way make it near the top of the standings.  At best, and I mean very best, they sneak into the playoffs.  IMO, this Team will not even make the playoffs.  The offense can't even execute a proper breakout.

 

Fingers crossed an all but this Team is going nowhere.

Love Pronger but I'm saying no. Flyers D and goaltending haven't been the issue, the offense not scoring is the issue, Pronger providing leadership in the room maybe?
