Gauthier also made it clear that he never said that he didn’t want to be a Flyer. He found the rumors that were spreading around to be funny and said he didn’t think he saw one thing that’s been said that was spot-on. “People like to talk and people like to make things up and other people like to listen. I haven’t seen one thing that’s been remotely close to the reasons that I decided.”

“It wasn’t one specific reason why I asked for a trade,” said Gauthier. “It was multiple, re-occurring issues that I’d seen over the past year and a half, two years of being under the Flyers organization. It kind of hit me all at once, thinking ‘I can’t move forward with this’ and ‘I really need to step up for myself and see what’s best for my future’ and that’s what I did.”

Kind of wish the Flyers knew this BEFORE they drafted him ...... SMH

Briere said before the draft Gauthier said he wanted to be a Flyer so they drafted him.  After the World Championships last year, he told them he didn’t want to play in Philly.  The Flyers kept that info from the media & public to protect Gauthier.  They honored his wish and traded him.

Just a question as Bedard came very close to hitting the goalie in the face with his stick.
I assume the goal won’t count if he hits the goalie’s head, as it would be high sticking?

    No, for 2 reasons:
    1.  It would be considered the follow through from the shot.

    2.  No high sticking penalty if any player gets hit in the head with a stick while they are on their knees.

Both players got fighting majors.  Seeler didn’t get a game misconduct…he got 17 minutes of penalty time,(5 for fighting, 2 for instigating, 10 min misconduct). There was less than 17 mins on the clock so he went to the room.  He’ll be back in the 3rd.

Correction:  Seeler must have been given a game misconduct for flipping out in the penalty box. The box score shows 27 pims, (game misconduct counts as 10 on the box score).

Oh they did ? Okay...I saw Seeler freaking out in the box and couldn't hear the PA. So I guess that was the 3-min PP the Flyers had...

The 3-min power play came a little later when the Flyers had a man in the box already and Ghost or called for a double minor, (interference and unsportsmanlike).

But the lineman really blew it on the icing call - ends with L. Hughes hurt and Hathaway major/misconduct all because the linesman didn't blow the whistle. Even the Devils' announcers saying it was a clean hit and the linesman screwed it up.

What's the point of reviewing a major if they don't have the audio, which is Toronto's only excuse for upholding the call.

Yep…horrible call.  I can’t remember the last time I saw I saw a boarding call where the player was hit into the boards at an angle like Hughes was.  This is one of those times that we might see the game misconduct rescinded tomorrow.
