https://thesportingtribune.com/cutter-gauthier-on-his-trade-to-anaheim-and-more
Gauthier also made it clear that he never said that he didn’t want to be a Flyer. He found the rumors that were spreading around to be funny and said he didn’t think he saw one thing that’s been said that was spot-on. “People like to talk and people like to make things up and other people like to listen. I haven’t seen one thing that’s been remotely close to the reasons that I decided.”
“It wasn’t one specific reason why I asked for a trade,” said Gauthier. “It was multiple, re-occurring issues that I’d seen over the past year and a half, two years of being under the Flyers organization. It kind of hit me all at once, thinking ‘I can’t move forward with this’ and ‘I really need to step up for myself and see what’s best for my future’ and that’s what I did.”

Weird…My stream had the Flyers broadcast crew. The stream froze for a minute and came back with the Canadiens French speaking broadcast crew. No clue what they’re talking about!

Damn this sounds like they dodged a bullet. Philly would have ate him alive.
Who wrote that? Pretty damning.
Someone must’ve told him about Torts and the defense first approach!

Kind of wish the Flyers knew this BEFORE they drafted him ...... SMH
Briere said before the draft Gauthier said he wanted to be a Flyer so they drafted him. After the World Championships last year, he told them he didn’t want to play in Philly. The Flyers kept that info from the media & public to protect Gauthier. They honored his wish and traded him.- 1

Clean hit, no intent there. Unfortunate outcome for Bedard. It didn’t even look like a really hard hit.
[sarcasm] Besides, Bedard is a bust! [/end sarcasm]

Sanheim. You said “in a perfect world”, he would be a Lidstrom clone.
Fantasy over…

Just a question as Bedard came very close to hitting the goalie in the face with his stick.
I assume the goal won’t count if he hits the goalie’s head, as it would be high sticking?
No, for 2 reasons:
1. It would be considered the follow through from the shot.2. No high sticking penalty if any player gets hit in the head with a stick while they are on their knees.

They salvage a point from what seemed like a lost cause. If only they would’ve started on time…

Both players got fighting majors. Seeler didn’t get a game misconduct…he got 17 minutes of penalty time,(5 for fighting, 2 for instigating, 10 min misconduct). There was less than 17 mins on the clock so he went to the room. He’ll be back in the 3rd.
Correction: Seeler must have been given a game misconduct for flipping out in the penalty box. The box score shows 27 pims, (game misconduct counts as 10 on the box score). -

Oh they did ? Okay...I saw Seeler freaking out in the box and couldn't hear the PA. So I guess that was the 3-min PP the Flyers had...
The 3-min power play came a little later when the Flyers had a man in the box already and Ghost or called for a double minor, (interference and unsportsmanlike).- 1

first time I ever saw both guys drop the gloves both swinging...and only 1 guy gets 5 for fighting. fkn ridiculous. Not sure why he got the game misconduct...

He's pissed what did i miss?
Seeler got checked up high and didn’t like it. He dropped the gloves and got called for the instigator. Horrible call.

Flyers seem to have more energy to start the 2nd. A fight and a goal…2 goals.

ErssonHart isn't going to like his save percentage, but it's not all on him. Outside of the Sprong goal, which was a very pretty play on the part of Detroit where nothing could really be done, the Flyers defensive coverage has been very lackadaisical.
Fixed it for you- 3

Hart back in tonight. Looks a little rusty. Flyers down 3-1 in the 1st.
Edit: The team in front of Hart looks tired. Wings are out skating them.
-
What illness is Hart dealing with? He’s been sick for a couple weeks.

The Aves looked faster than the Flyers on the first couple shifts of the game but the Flyers responded. It was good to see they could skate with them. I think that confused the Aves a little.
I only watched the first 2 periods. Couldn’t stay awake (because I’m old and schitt). Koneckny is turning into the player we all thought he’d be. The benching seems to have woke Farabee up. York is solid on the D. Lots to look forward to!
Trade Risto now! His value will never be higher!

So they can do that I wasn’t sure. If ever one should be overturned that one should qualify.
Yes. Doesn’t happen often, though. The only reason they do it is because after so many game misconducts you get suspended. At least it used to be that way.- 1

Farabee is benched? Only 2 shifts for 56 seconds total halfway through the game.

But the lineman really blew it on the icing call - ends with L. Hughes hurt and Hathaway major/misconduct all because the linesman didn't blow the whistle. Even the Devils' announcers saying it was a clean hit and the linesman screwed it up.
What's the point of reviewing a major if they don't have the audio, which is Toronto's only excuse for upholding the call.
Yep…horrible call. I can’t remember the last time I saw I saw a boarding call where the player was hit into the boards at an angle like Hughes was. This is one of those times that we might see the game misconduct rescinded tomorrow.

I think Farabee got a tip on that last shot.
