  1. It seems there are high number of Tim Donaghy wannabes in the NHL!
  2. Well, maybe he'll get a hat trick in Anaheim, that would settle everybody down.I'm going to try something new for me,gonna take the positive approach from now on.No more Mr.Negative here, now if he is a -6 Oh,Oh!!!
  3. Boudreau In, Carlyle out. Probably means Ryan is no longer on the market.
  4. Did the Homster happen to all the times Nick Fotiu kicked his butt? Fotiu formerly worked with the New York city sanitation dept.prior to becoming a Ranger. Homer liked to hit him in the fist with his head. Lets see him lie his way out of that one. He'll probably say he had a virus.
  5. Did Homer happen to mention anything about his bicycle accident? Talk about the wheels coming off.
  6. I agree with you 100% on Shelley's offensive and defensive skills. Shelley is an NHL goon, that is why he was hired,to provide muscle.I didn't notice one Ranger challenged him,in the HBO interview he called out Dubinsky for playing like a weasel. Shelley's claim to fame is,Goonism! To do that he has to be on the ice. When anybody starts to be concerned about cap space, you might want to consider Bryz.
  7. Hunter should change a few attitudes,Euro and otherwise. The Flyers are suffering from a dose Euronitis with a 51 million dollar price tag. Bryz has habit of scrum avoidance, just before the puck goes in the net. Bobbo is embracing it. North American hockey players are born with a certain amount of "John Wayne" in them,Lindros is a good example. Its too bad about Boudreau,Homer always said he was a real competitor.(My personal opinion) his Euro guys did let him down!
  8. The check of the game was Briere on Nodl, never mind checks on the Rangers. This Flyers group is SOFT!!!!! Until they get beyond that problem, they will be middle of the pack. I noticed none of the Rags challenged Shelley. He can't kick any butt sitting on the bench. Lavi is the one that should spend time with the Phantoms, its his comfort zone:Kiddie Hockey
  9. Shelley has to play to be considered good or bad for anything. Some body on the Flyer's has to move the "Occupy members"out from in front of the goalie, the present "D" men are scared, intimidated, etc.and apparently can't do what they are paid to do. Shelley is a solid heavy weight in the NHL,in order to be effective,he has to be on the ice,Lavi makes all the decisions. Bobbo looked pretty good!
  10. The Flyers compared to the Rangers are much more talented, but are physically intimidated. While yesterday's fights were entertaining, both Rinaldo and Simmonds took on much bigger players. If either one had been 6'5" these fights would not have happened. There are bigger Phantoms available,if Homer lets them sit on the bench and glare,it would be better than what happening now.
  11. This guy paid his dues, the Flyers could use a couple Behns!
  12. Homer can always check some of the local Chevie dealers.
  13. Nobody has all the repairs he had since last season and completely recovers in three months. The smart money says let him recover so he will be available in April. The eye thing is kind of scary,no point in rushing back before it healed.
  14. I agree Behn Wilson was the last real all around defense man in the Flyer's pen. Another guy like him would be a major boost to the "D" corps. Apparently Coburn,in spite of the fact he has all the tools will not step up to assume more leadership.
  15. If the"D" would step up and keep the crease clear,Coburn in Pronger's absence should show some leadership! This team has no real leader, just big salaries.
  16. The Islanders banged the boys around last night,Carolina did it and Winnipeg before that.if Homer doesn't want to play Shelley,he needs to either trade or bring some muscle from the Phantoms as security on the bench. What Hamonic was doing last night wouldn't have happened if Shelley had played.Lavi wants the guys to be more aggressive, well how about some back-up.Rinaldo is too small to intimidate the bigger players and winds up getting a lot of penalties for the same situation a bigger player wouldn't. Pronger can't do it all, somebody has to step up! Freddie said it right"If you can' beat "em" in the alley you'll never beat "em" on the ice". That philosophy was good for two cups,it still works! Ed Snider: The Bobby Orrs of the world only come along once in a lifetime! I'm sure Kevin McCarthy would agree with that. The Flyers drafted him as the next great offensive defenseman,we all know how that worked out.
  17. JVR has one of the hottest slapshots in the league,Lavi can't seem to put him in a position to use it. Spending more time in the slot or as a corner in the power play, put him on a line with some body who can keep up with him. There is a ton of talent here that Lavi keeps on the bench most of the game. Bleacher Report: Lavi is a genius! Apparently Carolina doesn't agree with that statement.
  18. Last night's game (LA&the Blues) had unique penalties called against LA similar to calls made against the Flyers.(bordering on absurd) Maybe it has something with Simmonds and Schenn?
  19. I agree Bryz is not playing like veteran 51 million dollar guy.If a good trade is available for Bobbo,I'd say go for it especially a defense man.Pronger and Kimmo are looking their age lately and could some help.If Homer wants these guys around in April,he better come up with somebody.
  20. Lavi seems to be suffering from early dementia,Simmonds is doing just fine. Giroux seems to have fallen on hard times since since Jagr isn't available to feed him pucks. The most frustrating group on the Flyers is the entire defense, they play like the little train that couldn't!!!
  21. Why Peckham? Checking NHL.com stats it appears he can play high minutes, big guy, what else? The Phantoms have some big guys,do the Oilers want to move this guy? Bobbo has joined the list of expendables,he should be allowed to improve his skills else where for a good deal.A real stand-up defense man(no senior citizens) would be a decent trade for Bobbo. I wouldn't worry about back-ups,Bryz should play most of the games.
  22. It would be nice if Homer could come up with a couple "D" men with a little more size and snarl. The Flyers "D" men start with Pronger and drop to "Mini Me". These guys aren't doing the job and the team(with Pronger out) has no leader! Maybe its time for a talk with Clarkie?
  23. One thing I'd like to add about the Carter/Richards deal, there guys were a plague on the club.Homer wanted to get rid of them before their contracts prevented it.Getting a good return may not have been Homers number one priority,he wanted to move "em". The players the Flyers got in the trades are OK,I hope all the new guys go on to be great players and play a long time.
