I understand where ammo is coming from. I like Sestito on that 4th line with Zac & Coots. Especially come playoff time. They take the body hard and that's the recipe in the playoffs. The problem is if JVR comes back & Wellwood continues to put up numbers like he has (when given the chance) I don't see any room for him this year. Next year is a different story. No more Shelley?

That's exactly what I saw. Hartnell tried to hit him but he was ready for it. 0 hard checks and definately not knocked on his ***.

And how did that happen? Any big hit's? Not 1 that I saw. He learned from the best recent diver of all times in Cindy. Watch the game again and you may be able to pick up on it...

Then why arent star players run at every game all game long? I'm not using fear as he's afraid of getting into a fight. How about situational awereness. He knows noone in that lineup today was going to challenge him. If you run at the star player 9 out of 10 times you get into a fight. It happens quite a bit. Then afterwards they usually stop running your star player. Afraid, no. But they know whats coming.

I like that move too. Carle is a ufa and looks horrible defensively.

Obviously no retaliation to worry about with this lineup. He can drop them with the best. Anyone who says fighting doesn't belong in the league has to understand that this would happen every game. The star players would be laid out every game. There would be no fear of retaliation.

How about it. That was a good move by Homer not trying to match that offer. Homer had one of the best off season's as any gm throughout the league except for Bryz (so far). Yes he still has time to turn it around. And i'm not sure he had much of a choice after Snider's comments last year.

It was a good fight. I like it when guys just start throwing right off the bat. All that holding on Sh!t sucks ,but I can definately see why they do it. Youtube some Tony Twist fights and you'll see why. That guy was an animal.

I just watched the replay on youtube. He was kicking that guys *** until he got dropped. On his way to the bench you can see he says f**k me. After that he's being helped to the dressing room. Concussion or a leg problem? It looked as though he was limping, maybe woozy. Any word? I like himn an Zac on that 4th line, especially come playoff time.

This is a game that nobody expects them to win. They play great on the road and will stop the Red Wings home unbeaten streak. I'm all in, 4 - 2 Flyers!!!

I agree. The entire team needs to play as 1 defensively no matter who we have. They still have time to get it down but teams are gaining on them big time. They haven't gotten into last years freefall yet so I have hope. You really can't blame the Flyers. they went out and got 1 of the better goalies out there. Who would've thought he would be playing like this... I wanted them to sign Voukon. Not sure how that would have worked out either.

Who had the "better quality" scoring chances today? You're also camparing 2 of the best goalies in the league to ours. Like I said b4 if we had the Bruins or Rags d it would be a different story. The goalies arent the only problem here.

Like I said before, the goalies this year have been a huge dissappointment to say the least. But he can't call out the goalie when his own defensive unit has been subpar. You can really see the difference when we play a good unit.

But you can bet the house if we get on a roll like last year we WILL not go anywhere in the playoffs. It's kinda like the NFL. Whoever's hot at that time makes a good if not a championship run...

the way i look at" the Defense " is how many shots and scoring chances do we give up ? The way I look at it is how many QUALITY scoring chances are given up. You can out shoot the other team all night but not have the better chances. We give up way to many easy goals / quality scoring chances/ better chances. Do you hear of any Ravens palyers calling out their teamates after losing to the Pats?

I'm digging that 4th line. You can see how the other team reacts to those guys out there. A little more aware of their surroundings i would say. I'm thinking Shelley may not play too much anymore. Sestito is a way better skater. I know JVR will come back but I would love to see these guys checking in the playoffs.

I agree. We miss Pronger A LOT!!! But Bryz has got to play much better as does the ENTIRE defense.

He will learn that hockey is probably the biggest team game of them all and maybe try putting a shot on net from the point once in a while. Instaed of the backboards. Did you happen to watch the last Rangers game? Yes Lundquist had some nice saves (as one of the best goalies in the league he should) the Rangers d gives you 1 maybe 2 shots then its out of the zone. That's if you even get a shot through without being blocked. Clement was saying the same thing. Look, I said earlier our goalies have been a huge let down but our d isn't on the same level as the top teams in the east without Pronger. Kimmo included.

If you want to compare Bryz vs Thomas and Lundquist and the reason we're 0-5-1 vs the "better" eastern teams. You must also compare our defense to those teams. If we had Boston or the Rag's d we wouldn't have that record. Kimmo need's to look in the mirror at himself and the entire defensive unit before he calls out his goalie. I understand some of the goals our goalies should stop but there are way to many slam dunks going in do to horrific defensive breakdowns. Thats just how I see it...

Yesterday Bob didn't have a chance with all the point blank shots.Today Bryz needed to make some big saves and didn't. In both cases the defensive lapses are horrendous to say the least. If you go back and look at the 2 games Matt Carle is terrible. He makes over 3 mil per year and will be looking for a raise? Kimmo is good defensively but he's not a #1 pp point man and getting old. Gustafson looks smaller than Pelle Eklund. Bourdon is a rookie with some potential. Still waiting for Coburn to use his size. I think Mez is our best all around dman right now . To go back to the question at hand. I still dont know, they both look terrible. If I have to lean 1 way I say its the D. We rank near the top in goals for & goals against. That's not good at all. We have great young scoring talent but we need a top d man. Someting's gotta give.
