yeah i do because they are not getting any younger, they are getting slower, if you dont trade them now, their value will lower, they wont show up at all, that's my fear for next season especially if younger players could steps back and that's a recipe for tanking because they hold on to their players too long, they break down, they retire, you are getting nothing back and you got nothing to rebuild with. im watching for him to score and not skate around and look at lights and getting knocked over every shift, i get your personal like for him but i dont.

giroux has a ntc but i guess the organization has to be tough like if he doesnt waive his ntc, he gets benched or sent to the ahl.

core hasnt done anything since 2012 we were lucky to play montreal that got us to the second round.

i think it's a such an uphill climb to get to the finals and win the cup and we just dont have talent to do it, im talking about jake, jvr, giroux, i think we all have to be realistic that these players will not get us to the cup and we need better players because we changed coaches like we changed our socks with this core and it's still the same problems. we need a a major change in leadership and relying rookies isnt good enough, you need great players to step up and it isnt these guys.

nak and tk do concern me with that size, i just hope they have that speed to go by those big wingers. that's a mismatch in my opinion.

here's my plan, if johnny g, jack eichel is on the block, i would trade assets for those players, trade jvr, giroux, jake for high picks first or second round picks to replenish the prospect pool. that's how you rebuild a team and the main reason why you dont hold to your players to retire.

the only way the flyers will the cup is that hart has to play out of his mind and our top paid guys have to step up if not we are out in the second round or maybe this round i dont know this team choked it before, it wouldnt surprise since this core has been choking for 8 years and im saying this now this core will not win a cup, they have to retool and trade for young talented players to build around. this core is done.

that's what it is we needed great system defensive coach which was av, someone that hak never was. that's why the canucks and rangers were so good under him.

some fans dont like defensive first hockey, they want every game to be 10 or more goals like that's not going to happen unless you are playing against an average goalie. alot of teams that have won cups are great defensive teams. i mean it would be great to have a crosby like player on this team but we dont have that player, so the only way we can beat these teams is play good defense and score on the dirty plays.

i mean price is not made of glass either, i mean tampa won ugly 2-1 last night, sometimes you have to give credit to the goalies too, there's alot of good defensive teams in the playoffs, so it's going to be tough to score goals, we just have to score ugly.

so what's your rule, just keep the players until the team completely tanks like redwings where they have to figure what stars to build around? unlike them, we dont have to be those teams, we could retool, trade for younger proven pieces to build around instead of tanking and trying to rely on lottery and luck to find that star which could take forever, i mean like seriously do you want to be like the redwings of suckage?

i agree, we cant pull a phillies and hold on these players too long mentality because it will backfire on us for not getting anything back. not to mention we can shred cap space and use the assets we get back from the old core pieces and trade them to get a few young stud players that are on the trading block and they can be the new core pieces without trying to tank for them. i mean look at vegas golden knights, they used their assets to acquire young stud pieces without tanking and they are playing at a high level because of it. san jose is example of them of just holding on their players too long and not getting any talented players back accept karlsson and redwings as well. we cant be those teams. we have to retool in the offseason if we get knocked out. this team could go south if they dont.

if we dont beat montreal do you see major changes coming? in my opinion i do, i understand the great record we had this year, but the main core isnt young either, that could hurt us next year. if they are young stars on the block, i think fletcher really has to take a look on acquiring them because we eventually have to start on a new era.

then he's not ready if they dont make the playoffs, that's reality of it and i think the organization sees it too, that's why he's not playing, he's 21 years old, you cant rush this kid to be bernie or else or it will the same problem with the other goalies that had potential that crashed and burned because the fanbase and front office has no patience in developing games the right way, let him be backup for a few years, get a starter, let him get the confidence to be the starter slowly and maybe by the time he's 25 or 26 he can take on that role.

now, i know why the bluejackets wanted to get of voraeck because of his lously work ethic and we paid the price for that and why toronto let jvr walk and why i hate giroux's contract and as a player because of his lously work ethic. yes he scored a goal late in the period but that didnt matter, where's that effort in the first period and not when we are losing? it's exactly the reason why are never going to win cup with them because their work ethic is pathetic, they have no fire, they show up when they want to because it's all about a paycheck, im sick of it. they better not be here next year because i cant take another year of these bums not showing up when it matters, that's why we are in the wild card race and we are always going to be there until they go and we get someone that can take this team to a new level. sorry for the long rant.

it's not like we were one goal away from winning the cup, we still had to go back to chicago which we couldnt win there to begin with, we probably still would have lost, this team was out of gas.

yeah, when we are down 3 goals, they step up, not in the first period, how many cups has this team won under this leadership? 0, how many playoff wins has this team won under this leadership? 0, stats dont equal to cups, scoring goals and winning games does. no offense you dont seem to care about this team ever winning a cup because all you do is defend them like they are lindros and leclair. is what apologists do, defend bad players and blame the coaches every year.

our stars giroux, voraeck, and jvr have to step it up every game if this team wants to make the playoffs, they are just not showing up when it matters, that's why we keep losing to less talented teams. it just seems like they want nothing but a paycheck, the inconsistency started with this leadership.
