  1. http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=605642 The Carolina Hurricanes have reportedly traded defenseman Tomas Kaberle to the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for defenseman Jaroslav Spacek. Hurricanes GM Jim Rutherford said last week that he was not happy with Kaberle's play and if he continued down his current path he wouldn't be with the club for much longer. Rutherford found a partner in Canadiens GM Pierre Gauthier, who has acquired a player in Kaberle that has no goals, 9 assists and a minus-12 rating in 29 games. In return, the Hurricanes are getting Spacek, who has 3 assists and a plus-2 rating in 12 games this season. Spacek, though, hasn't played since Nov. 12 due to an upper-body injury, but he was cleared for contact earlier this week. Kaberle did not even help the B's last yr. He lazy and has a attitude problem surprised the habs wanted him
  2. http://www.nhl.com/i...s.htm?id=605395 I must be blind I watch the whole game did not see the hit. news to me how bad was it?
  3. breezy will be fine. lavy needs to play him for long stretches at a time like he was doing for the yotes. playing 1-3 games in row then flip flopping between goalies will not give him needed consistency
  4. http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=605276 Crosby, who has 2 goals and 12 points in eight games this season, did not accompany the team as it left Pittsburgh today to start a two-game road trip in Philadelphia and New York. "Sidney took a hard hit during our game against Boston Monday night and wasn't feeling 100 percent," Penguins general manager Ray Shero told the team's official website Wednesday. "He saw Dr. Micky Collins of UPMC today and took an ImPACT test, which showed no problems. However, we all think it's best that he sits out the next two games as a precaution." Crosby practiced Wednesday and also did a radio interview on a Pittsburgh sports station and did not mention an injury in either instance. as much as I hate him should just sit out the season and get 100% healthy. Simon tried to the same sit some of season only to get concussed again coming back to early.
  5. tell you want conference C did boston get a gift or what. tampa is not that good sabres all hype and no drive sen's and habs will not be anywhere near a playoff type caliber teams for a few yrs. panthers and laffs who knows they may come back down to earth.
  6. that did not take long. guess we will see if he is a really good coach working with not alot of talen
  7. Hurricanes just fired their coach today as well
  8. DaleHunter in as the new hc. Did not see this coming at all.
  9. Just curious see how many guys on the board play hockey. If so how many yrs etc. We should try to get a pickup game sometime,
  10. Agree with breezy. thing that bothers me when he was in phoenix he played night in and night out and was better playing that way. he is not used to playing 1 or 2 games in a row possibly 3 and then having the night off. look any any other top goalie in the league lundquist maf, marty b, lungo etc list goes on . all teams with top goalies let them play say 8 or 9 game and then give them off. breezy has to be given that chance and let him get on a roll he. beezy gets better playing more games
  11. Adirondack Phantoms. In addition they have loaned forward Harry Zolnierczyk to the club's ECHL affiliate, the Trenton Titans, according to general manager Paul Holmgren. Bourdon (no. 43) and Marshall (no. 46) will be available to play in tonight's Flyers-Hurricanes game at the Wells Fargo Center. hmmm i though harry z was playing good
  12. breezy was the only reason the yotes made the PO. he got shelled with tons of shots because his teammates in front of him broke down.
  13. Flyers general manager updated his condition following the team's 2-1 win over the Coyotes. “He’s got a little bit of a thing in his lower-body. We don’t think it’s anything serious. I talked to Jaromir and he thinks within a couple days he should be better so I guess that leaves him out for the next game, but hopefully we’ll get him back Monday, but nobody thinks it’s serious.” Holmgren went on to say that he believes the injury occurred during the second shift of the game against Phoenix and that it’s a new injury not anything that has bothered him in the past. http://flyers.nhl.com/club/page.htm?id=64095&navid=DL|PHI|home
  14. sick kid just nasty. I though the Grioux's goal vs the Bruins was sick, man I think this goal trumps it
  15. http://www.csnphilly.com/blog/flyers-talk/post/Flyers-full-of-jokes-after-win-vs-Canes?blockID=594236&feedID=695 Porno’ stache Jaromir Jagr is generally amiable with the media, but after the victory over the ‘Canes, he was particularly personable. Jagr was discussing his contribution to Movember, a Fu Manchu that's received a lot of positive feedback from Flyers fans. Jagr said he elected to go with the Fu Manchu because he’d look kind of funny and bad – as opposed to just bad, which he figured he’d look if he had only a mustache. Then he added: "If I had only a mustache I'd look like that guy." He was pointing at Inquirer writer Sam Carchidi. Jagr grinned and added, “porno!” We’re not sure about that one … but it did result in a lot of laughs from both players and media. Moments later, Jagr walked past Carchidi and gave his ‘stache a little tug, to an eruption of laughs from the rest of the reporters.
  16. what gets me. if I was miller i would be more pissed at my teammates. they have no back bone not one of the sabres dropped their gloves or jumped milan they just pushed him out of the way. sabres have no spine
  17. http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=601357 pretty interesting I thought he would get a couple of games, so basically what shanny says long as the player states has" no intent" hit away at the goalies.
  18. Wow it's extended report. Did you write for life? Pronger needs to skate a little more faster, I guess Skinner will work against him. Bob or Bryz? I guess it's Bob.(Bryz is not going back to back) no that reports is from flyers website. i would like to see brezzy in net i want to see him get on a nice roll. and from reading on csnphilly.com i think they will go with breezy The Flyers are 15-1-2 in their last 18 meetings with the Hurricanes, including a 7-1 record in their last eight games at Raleigh. Peter Laviolette is 6-1 against Carolina since leaving the team with which he won a Stanley Cup. The Flyers are looking to improve on their impressive 5-1-1 road record. Bryzgalov is 4-1-1 with a 1.99 GAA away from home. Staal, the Carolina captain, is last in the NHL with a minus-17 rating. Injuries Flyers: Erik Gustafsson (wrist) is day-to-day. Andreas Nodl (lower-body injury) is too. Brayden Schenn (broken foot) remains out. Hurricanes: Former Flyers defenseman Joni Pitkanen (lower body) is day-to-day.
  19. The Philadelphia Flyers dominate the Carolina Hurricanes, and Scott Hartnell, Jaromir Jagr and Claude Giroux have already made sure that's continued into 2011-12. They'll get a pair of opportunities to extend that success over the next two Mondays. The high-scoring trio will be looking to shake out of a brief offensive funk when the Flyers visit the Hurricanes on Monday night. Philadelphia (9-4-3) is 15-1-2 in its last 18 meetings with Carolina (6-8-3), including a 7-1-0 record in Raleigh. The Flyers' dominance in the series continued with a 5-1 home victory Oct. 29, as Giroux scored a goal and assisted on three others, while Hartnell had three points to go with Jagr's two goals. Flyers coach Peter Laviolette improved to 6-1-0 in reunions with the Hurricanes, the team he led to the 2006 Stanley Cup. These clubs will meet again next Monday in Philadelphia. Giroux has two goals and six assists in his last five games against Carolina, and he hopes the series can help snap him out of a short slump. The Flyers' leader with nine goals and 19 points has none in the last two games. Jagr's six goals and 15 points are second to Giroux, but he doesn't have a point in the last two, either. The veteran right wing had six goals and five assists during a seven-game scoring streak before the drought. Hartnell has just one of his 13 points in his last four games, but the left wing has 11 goals and 12 assists in 22 career games against Carolina. Despite a lack of contributions from its offensive leaders, Philadelphia still beat Florida 3-2 on Sunday after opening this three-game trip with Wednesday's 2-1 overtime defeat to Tampa Bay. "I thought our guys really competed well, skated well," Laviolette said Sunday. "I thought our guys responded well and played a hard-fought game." Philadelphia is 5-1-1 on the road, and Ilya Bryzgalov may get another chance to play a role in that success. He made 31 saves Sunday to improve to 4-1-1 with a 1.99 goals-against average away from home. Bryzgalov had 24 stops against the Hurricanes last month. Carolina is looking to build on its best offensive performance of the season after beating Eastern Conference-leading Pittsburgh 5-3 on Saturday to end a four-game losing streak. Jeff Skinner had a big part in the offensive outburst, contributing a goal and two assists after failing to get a point in the previous two contests. Last season's Calder Trophy winner leads the Hurricanes with seven goals and 10 assists. He's netted three goals and set up four others in the past four home games. Skinner, however, has just one goal and one assist in five career meetings with the Flyers. Eric Staal had a goal and an assist Saturday, snapping a 10-game goal drought that included seven without a point. The Carolina captain still posted a minus-1 rating for the game and is last in the NHL at minus-17. "He's worked extremely hard," goaltender Cam Ward said. "It's just a matter of time. He's too good." Staal has no goals, three assists and a minus-3 rating in his past seven home games against Philadelphia.
  20. http://www.csnphilly...3472&feedID=704 NRISE, Fla. -- Max Talbot wasn’t just banged up after Sunday’s 3-2 win ( “I was not able to get an explanation [from the referees]. I was looking for my tooth,” Talbot said. “There was blood everywhere, so I couldn’t really talk. But I would have liked to hear what he had to say.” Generally, a high-sticking call warrants a two-minute minor. If blood is drawn, an automatic double-minor is assigned – no matter whether the perpetrator had any intent. And yet, Talbot got no call despite a lengthy discussion between captain Chris Pronger and referee Stephane Auger. What makes the lack of a call even stranger is that Talbot himself served a double-minor for high-sticking early in the third period. Talbot did hit Panthers defenseman Brian Campbell in the mouth, and Campbell did bleed, but only barely at best. Talbot, meanwhile, sported a swollen lip during his postgame interview, speaking slowly and deliberately, swirling his tongue around what was left of his damaged tooth. “I find funny that I not even clip a guy in the face in the third, and he bites his lip and I get four minutes,” Talbot said. “And then something like this happens and there’s four refs on the ice – I know they’re human and they don’t see everything, but there’s something not right.” I just dont' get the nhl sometimes certain calls are penalties sometimes they are not. just too much inconsistency and it put the players at risk.
  21. http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=600881 I loved it, miller way out of his crease. i think the rule should change goalie comes that far out he should be legal meat
  22. Records Flyers: 8-4-2 (Second in the Atlantic Division, Fourth in the Eastern Conference) Lightning: 7-5-2 (Second in the Southeast Division, Seventh in the Eastern Conference) Previous games The Flyers stomped all over the last-place Blue Jackets with a 9-2 victory Saturday night to improve their home record to 4-3-2. It was the team's highest-scoring game since Feb. 6, 1997 in a 9-5 win over Montreal. The Lightning are coming off a shootout win over the Florida Panthers Sunday night. Down three goals, the Bolts came back to win off of Dominic Moore's shootout goal. Who's hot? Jaromir Jagr notched two points against the Blue Jackets to extend his point streak to seven games and bring his total to 15 points on the season. He has recorded 69 points (31 goals, 38 assists) against Tampa Bay in his career. Vincent Lecavalier has notched at least a point in seven of his past nine games with a total of five goals and nine points during that span. Of Lecavalier's six goals this season, four of them have been game-winners. Storylines The Flyers look to continue their hot road start (4-1-0) but it will be difficult with the Lightning going for their fifth straight home win this season. Flyers captain Chris Pronger will be a game-time decision after missing the last six games with an eye injury. He will wear a visor when he returns. Tampa Bay hopes to continue its recent success against Philadelphia. Last season, the Lightning nearly swept the Flyers but lost in a shootout in their fourth and final meeting. Injuries Flyers: Matt Read (upper body). Lightning: Mattias Ohlund (knee, Injured Reserve), Ryan Malone (upper body, day-to-day) and Victor Hedman (upper body, day-to-day). Sound off Are you surprised that the Flyers lead the NHL in goals with 56?
