  1. Getting shutout is the most embarrassing loss in hockey...
  2. Any team losing the San Jose this year just doesn't deserve to be in playoffs...
  3. FCK YEAH GONNA BE AN AWESOME WINTER OLYMPICS
  4. I love fighting and hate suspensions and even I think 5 games is about right...gotta deter idiotic stuff that could escalate into Bertuzzi stuff...anything less than 5 isn't a deterrent but I doubt Bettman has the balls to increase it any...
  5. Naw is the same I mean if a guy gets drunk and goes home with a guy they just met and agrees to get into bed I wouldn't believe he was raped I'd actually be more worried about the girls getting raped rather than the guys getting raped...
  6. Yeah I agree drunk people are not too be trusted either...but they are still accountable for their actions and their choices and for what they too even if what they said wasn't truthful they still gotta be accountable for their actions and words to some degree...
  7. Better to let 10 truly guilty accused be wrongfully found not guilty than to have even 1 truly not guilty accused be wrongfully found guilty...so for me it's more terrifying to not have good defence lawyers available to the public...
  8. Ghomeshi lawyer is elite for sure I always remember her closing or opening arguments just undeniable: The law states that every accused is presumed innocent...it does not state that witnesses are to be presumed credible... --- Truly one of the best quotes ever...
  9. True and until any person actually takes the stand and testifies we don't actually know well 100% certainty what they will say...Ghomeshi case is a good example of that...
  10. Ok...and good point about America shouldn't be throwing stones about public safety... In Canada the case where Ghomeshi and the judge asking the victim why she didn't fight back or close hurt legs were appealed and still resulted not guilty verdicts and in my opinion the courts got it right because beyond a reasonable doubt is a high bar and when people don't object to things overtly there's room for reasonable doubt what someone is really feeling inside...
  11. In Canada is illegal confinement... Also tampering with witnesses is for those already listed as witnesses in a court case not for when there's no case before the courts yet... Lastly the girl was an adult at the time since there are no charges relating to age etc...
  12. Ok but the video consent hurts the prosecution in my opinion and we'll just have to agree to disagree about that...overall I'm undecided and for me the video content help the defence so far and of course I haven't seen the video so guess a generalization here...
  13. Totally agree with that yeah you should be totally confident before inserting but there's alot of shoulda coulda woulda and that's not the legal standard in the free world...the test is proof beyond a reasonable doubt and just telling people they shoulda this or that isn't enough for criminal convictions and rightfully so...
  14. How about if it's ok to get a girl drink then have sex with her then get her on tape saying it was consensual then have her change her mind about everything...? That's a scary precedent too... In Canada there was the case of Gian Gomessi...or the case where the judge asked the victim why she just didn't close her legs or fight back during the sex in question...both resulted in not guilty verdicts...is Canada a more scary place because of these verdicts?
  15. She was speaking about her consent regarding the acts that are the subject of the criminal charges...unless you feel she is speaking about something else? Regardless of what you think she is referring to video evidence never equals nothing in criminal court cases all evidence accepted into the record of court cases carry weight whether it is more or less weight is determined by the judge or jury...does that fit into your understanding of the criminal code of Canada? So if those videos are not accepted by the judge into the court records only then you can claim they mean nothing...but if there are accepted into the court records they obviously mean more than nothing...either way you are not correct that the videos mean nothing unless the judge does not allow those videos into evidence and onto the record of the court proceedings...
  16. That's not a fair thing to say that if nothing illegal happened why do you need a video...that's like trump saying you should cooperate with the police and not keep your right to silence if you have nothing to hide...if there's a video of verbal consent that'd exactly what it is verbal consent and speculation of duress etc is just speculation...if she recanting what she said in the videos for whatever reason fine but that's just like buyers remorse like being ok with everything at the time of the incident then changing her mind later after it all done with...either way I don't think it's fair to cadt doubt upon the fact the videos were made...I mean jeez people record legal and illegal stuff all the time so why should the existence of video evidence be viewed as anything less than what it is - which is a just simple video evidence?
  17. Yeah that was the case for Gaudreau and Treliving...Treliving should have dealt him when he couldn't get confirmation from him yeah but I understand why Treliving bet on being able to resign him since everything was going right for Gaudreau in Calgary even money wise being paid more than was Columbus offered Treliving just bet wrong and risked it all on Gaudreau...not a bad bet just a bad result I'd say... As for Wayne Gretzky wanting to stay in Edmonton I'd say he didn't want to stay enough or he'd have made it happen haha Wayne just protecting his wife from criticism like he always does I look at the facts that she's already from the Hollywood lifestyle and she getting to go back there isn't a coincidence in my option just like it ain't no coincidence that Megan Markle gets whatever she wants like going back to live in Hollywood again too
  18. Yeah in Philly case the right moves were the ones to not make and Briere is doing better at that for sure...hopefully Philly can be better in future but even with this year early success I think it'll be another few years before they can really make serious playoffs pushes...
  19. I don't know about Philly making any right moves lately expect for hiring and sticking with Torts...Philly really is meh after the Lindros era and has been stuck a meh ever since...
  20. Can't believe someone actually picked Filip Forsberg over McDavy....and Nick Cousins was a surprise to be hated that much...also how anyone can say any of the Tkachuks are overrated is mind boggling to me I mean hate them or love them they've made their teams significant better compared to before they got there...
  21. Time will tell but not getting Kadri was the worse move because keeping Monahan I doubt he'd be doing as well without Suzuki and Caufield playing with him on power plays...we all just guessing at what could be if Calgary kept Monahan but either way I think keeping Monahan would be the wrong move anyways...
  22. Montreal got the most benefit from Mony for sure haha...
