  1. Greenway going to the Sabres. Wild get a 2023 2nd round pick and a 2024 fifth round pick. I can’t believe BG got that back for Greenway. What a deal!!
  2. More from Russo… oh, and we also sent Pillar to Toronto.
  3. Dang, one of Russo’s tweets said O’Reilly would go down as one of the best centers in Wild history. Guess he jumped the gun too?!?!
  4. Wild pick up a 4th round pick and retain 25% of O’Reilly’s salary as part of a 3-team trade sending him to Toronto.
  5. So I’m watching the game on TV, but I have to take the dog for a short walk outside. What has happened to the audio link of the game on the nhl.com app? I no longer see a link to start the audio feed. Did they take this away?
  6. Unless something has changed or he’s mistaken, Russo says Steel is going to center Jost and Boldy and that for now Rossi will center the 4th line with Dewar and Duhaime.
  7. I liked Kulikov but this was probably necessary and it’s time to see what Addison can do playing regularly at this level. This team is going to have to start playing the young talent at it’s disposal. Might as well start now.
  8. The Wild have signed free agent center Sam Steel. Had 6 goals and 20 points with the Ducks last year. Cost is $825K for a one year deal. Anaheim didn’t make a qualifying offer to him. In 4 seasons with the Ducks covering 197 games he’s scored 24 goals with 41 assists. Decent depth move IMHO.
  9. I’m 110% behind BG and the direction he has taken, and appears to be taking, this team. Having said that, I didn’t care for the way he handled this deal with Talbot’s agent. It’s better for everyone in almost every single situation to keep things out of the public eye. BG didn’t need ti make that statement to the press. Having said that, it’s a two way street. An agent confronting a GM about player personnel decisions regarding SIGNED PLAYERS on the draft room floor isn’t very professional. I’d have probably dressed that agent down right there. It’s not the time or place.
  10. I agree that his wife can post or say whatever she wants. I have no problem with that. But if an organization, GM or fan base gets tired of your significant other posting ****, don’t be disappointed or surprised if it comes back on you in some way shape or form. I’m not saying that’s the case here, because I don’t know for sure BG’s motivation for making the deal, but a player, Cam in this instance, shouldn’t think that fans and the organization won’t have some reaction to what she said.
  11. I don’t know who it was because I joined late, but on NHL radio someone said the Wild getting Haight where they did was one of the steals of the draft. This talking head REALLY talked Haight up. Lots of potential there.
  12. Yeah, Russo alluded to that somewhat as well as he was answering those questions and he postulated about what the Wild could do with Dumba. He doesn’t see any way that the Wild will resign Dumba for anything more than about $4.5M/per at most because of the cap crunch. If Dumba won’t sign at that number, and Russo kind of doubts he would, then if you can’t sign him now or during the season, your choices are clear. You move him at some point during the year or he walks for nothing after the season. We have to hope he plays well and hope some team needs a defenseman come the deadline. I’d hate to let him walk for nothing.
  13. So, a little bit of Dumba “news” and those wanting to trade him won’t like this… ….Russo just held his Q&A session on The Athletic and was asked about the Wild trading Dumba. He replied that “league sources” had told him that BG had quietly called around to gauge interest in Dumba and there was none. A second guest followed up and asked did Russo mean no interest at the Wild’s asking price, or no interest in Dumba at all? Russo was clear that his league sources say there is no interest in Dumba AT ALL. If true, moving Dumba is going to be difficult unless we eat money or take low value prospect(s) in return….unless some other team has an injury and their needs change. Take that for what it’s worth.
  14. I find it REALLY hard to believe that Chuck Fletcher is still a GM in this league.
  15. On the Power Play right now on NHL Network Radio, they note Gustavasson is on a one way deal and that there is no way in their opinion that he will be the tandem with MAF. They are also stunned that Toronto didn’t jump in on this, if this is all Minnesota got in return.
  16. According to ESPN, and now being discussed on NHL Network Radio. The Wild get Filip Gustavasson as the return and it frees up $2.879M in cap space. I guess Talbot let it be know he wasn’t going to be real happy playing for BG.
  17. Great point, and it had crossed my mind. Should we expect the same from Zuc and Hartman? Probably not, but if they are playing alongside Kaprizov they might get close. KK97 makes everyone better. Zuc’s age will start to become a concern though. I’m more concerned about the degree of drop off with the second line.
  18. Yeah, I could stomach that for the long run.
  19. There were plenty of outlets that had Yurov as a top 10 talent. To get him at 24 is potentially a huge steal, and who knows, perhaps a talented young Russian player to play beside, could be an enticement for Kaprizov to re-sign here when that time comes.
  20. Yeah, no doubt in my mind this is the team, unless there is something that comes to a head with Talbot that forces a trade. I’m fine if you trade Dumba, but even if you did, still doubtful your going to have enough cap space to sign some impact player to replace Fiala’s production. We knew this was coming with the cap crunch, but I still believe the buyouts were the right thing to do. There is little doubt in my mind that Rossi and Addison at a minimum will be on the opening day roster. We will not be as good a team as last year, but I still don’t see any reason this team won’t be competitive and compete for a playoff spot. They should not go from a top 5-10 team in the league, to bottom dwellers because of Fiala. Of course I’m assuming everything goes well where Kaprizov is concerned…..
  21. Greenway would probably have more takers but I like the Big Rig. We need his bulk. Would be hard for me to move him but that’s just me.I don’t see any forwards that I would move. Looking at the D corp, I’d love to move Merrill. I’ve just never been a fan and even though the extension was only $1.2M/year, I didn’t like it. No one is trading for him though we we are stuck. I know he’s under contract, and I know BG doesn’t want to do it, and doesn’t have to do it, but we could end up moving Talbot. If it is a bad or worse behind the scenes as it sounds it could be, you could have a locker room issue. Talbot has always struck me as a pro and team guy so I’d be surprised if he caused and issue, but he has to be super pissed…and I couldn’t blame him.
  22. We are at pick 17 and Kemell and Lambert are still sitting there!! Either would be a great choice! I also like Yurov is probably the best value here but the Russia stuff makes me nervous. Edit: Damn, Preds took Kemell. Stars might grab Lambert.
