Stat of the day ......
It’s been 27 years since a team gave up 70+ goals in a month – Ottawa in March 1994. (Let that sink in..... 70+ goals in 1 month) That team went 14-61-9.
Flyers given up 75 goals this past month to the tune of 4.4 allowed per game. Only 2 games out of 17 games they had less than 3 goals allowed. (SMH)
I love stats. But not those stats.

Stat shown... Buffalo first time scoring 4 goals since March 9th... (Also against the flyers). Lolol

By the looks of it they don't have two lines worth rolling

We need Isaac to step on the gas. 15pts in 53gms last year isn't getting it done.
I was hoping he would be that big winger they've been searching for.

I don't know. Swamp Rabbits are the real deal. Been a good team for a while now. Probably give the Flyers a good fight at this point.

I've been watching Flyers hockey for (too many) decades, I've been reading what you goofs have been posting on multiple forums for longer than I care to admit, I created this forum with HF to learn/read/discuss even more. And here I am, dumbfounded by this whole thing. That they waived him, that nobody picked him up and the fact that I apparently still know diddly about hockey-man/owner/GM related things.
I would have bet a large amount of money on him being picked up. You all missed out on a nice windfall. Losers.
If I was a GM I'd have put a warm hug around Ghost and welcomed him to my team.
(and that's why I'm not a GM and know nothing about hockey)

I saw where it was Braun and Laughton who made the inspirational second period intermission speeches in Buffalo.
Braun. And Laughton.
Giroux said this last night to JJ/Jones after the OT winner. Giroux said something like "I didn't say a word, Braun and Laughton spoke up...." The fact that the leadership didn't says something. Maybe Giroux/Jake/veterans all have tried a few times before and got nothing from it.

Sorry, I'll stop after this.....
Ghost is the 4th best dman on this team currently? Is that safe to say?
Ivan, Sanheim, Meyers (arguable), then Ghost? Then the rest... Morin, Gus, Hagg, Prosser, equipment manager.
So what's it say about this team that they can waive their 4th best dman? How the hell did they get to this point? Huge cluster.
-
AV says this is for 'flexibility'. As mentioned earlier, it would only pull off 1m from the cap. So why not waive Prosser, Gus.... hell, Hayes (he's done sh!t all year), nothing against Oskar but he's pretty worthless out there also (with an excuse, I know). Let's see, how about NAK? TK looks like he just came from mites. JVR is back to himself. Myers showing why he wasn't drafted.
They are all playing like crap. After reading more this is, imho, about AV being pissed about Ghost's comments the other night. Maybe, just maybe, tied to another move but the choice of Ghost is nothing more than butthurt feelings.

Does anyone have a clip of Ghosts comments that may have ruffled managements feathers or can someone give a brief summary for those of us out of state fans?
thanks

Didn't they play Ghost at wing last year? Or were we just talking about it? I can't remember anything these days. Except that the Flyers suck.
I know we (the forum) talked about it for years but I don't remember them (flyers) actually doing it. Instead they tried the 6'7" guy that's played 7 games in 3 years.

yes. Creativity. LIke "they have the puck in the defensive zone and my ass should be near the crease to stop that guy coming in from the half-boards. But the creative, undrafted-for-a-reason mofo in me will find a really original place to be. How about up there by the point! Now THAT's creativity, bayyyybeee!"
You're not wrong. But to be fair, that's every single player on the team right now.

I agree. Ghost when playing with confidence is a dynamic player who is actually dangerous as hell. And he has a canon.
I assume this is a calculated gamble that his salary would prevent anybody from claiming him. I hope they are right in that gamble.
Maybe. If he clears, do they have to recall him from the AHL when they come to their senses? Does he have to clear again?

He's a moron this only clears a little less than a million...
Is that right? I thought if he was claimed it's all on the team that claimed? I'm not a cap guy. (clearly)
If it clears only a million, then this is purely a shot across the bow at the team from AV/Chuck. Fall in line, don't speak out. To me it's asset mismanagement at it's finest.

How dare you think a player in the Flyers sweater doesn't suck and has actual value. C'mon man wtf?
I'll bet you would probably scoff at Couturier, Sanheim, Patrick and 2nd for Eichel too.
sheesh.
Ha. Right? Although I would have done the hypithetical William Andrew Michael Junior Nylander for Meyers that was thrown around awhile back. Not sure that was actually a thing but I would have pulled that trigger pretty quick.

I would think this would make Gus a better trade asset because his contract is expiring.
But he'd have to be better at hockey to not be included as a sweetener/throw-in.
Only better in contract but Gus can't play actual hockey. Ghost can. I can't imagine any GM thinks that Gus is better than Ghost on any level. (Not arguing, just stating.)

Good point. Completely agree.
Apparently I have unintended man-crush on Ghost and I can't see him for what everyone else can see him as. I actually enjoy watching Ghost and if paired with the correct dman, I think he has a lot of value. Then again, maybe that's why I'm not a NHL GM.
To me Ghost actually provides creativity, something this team sorely lacks. He's better than Ivan on the point on the PP that's for sure. He's a better dman then Gus, Hagg. Maybe he was negatively vocal about AV or Chuck.
If he doesn't get claimed I'll be shocked.

If it's not to clear cap room to sign a legit #2 or better defenceman, that this might be one of the stupidest moves I've seen in a long time. Ghost had to fetch at least a draft pick, hell most of us thought at least a 2nd rounder or more. To just waive him? What the fack is going on.

Pretty sure TK doesn't know how to hockey any more. He flat out sucks, even worse than Hayes if you believe it.
-
Maybe @flyercanuck was right. Farabee is coming along pretty okay. Kid is really coming into his own. No look passes, trying to single handedly get points for this $hit show of a team
