Looking at it that way, makes complete sense. I was looking at it through my eyes were 7.5 x 6 = 45m. Invest that the 'right' way and he can make the additional 20m while he's playing those 6 years. To you and me, 45m vs 60m is a very small difference when it is managed 'correctly'.
^This. No reason TK should be asking for $10m. At most 7.5m at 6 years in my opinion.
How much money is enough for someone? If he wants to win a cup, his AAV comes down so they can get higher quality players.
8 makes me pucker a bit but the AAV is good. I expect him to keep getting better. Would have liked to see him producing in the POs before this term but overall I think this is decent by MGMT.
@J0e Th0rnton
Something like that happened to me when I was younger. I won't get into it but thankfully I convinced her to tell the truth as it was alienating me from everyone I knew. I do understand why women's words are more trusted then men's though. History doesn't lie. On the flip side, It's sad that both sides aren't heard before judgements are passed. The pendulum is swinging too far maybe.
Having two teenage daughters makes me shutter just thinking about the experiences that they hopefully will never have.
So, here's a question. Let's say Carter is found guilty and (I admit I don't know the whole story) Hockey Canada is thought to have to have tried to cover this up previous to the Flyers drafting Carter, will the Flyers Organization sue Hockey Canada for loss of revenue? Not sure they can get a draft pick in compensation as the NHL wasn't involved.
I really do appreciate Danny and his ability to answer questions. Having a GM that has played the game in the same century seems to be beneficial. Who'da thought.
Honestly, this losing skid might be the best thing for the organization in the long run. They've played decently over their collective heads for half a season now. So much so that there are some thinking they have a chance to beat quality teams in a 7 game series. I agree they might win one series but their tanks would be so empty they wouldn't have anything left for the next series.
Winning one and losing two might be the best thing that can happen to this team leading up to the trade deadline.
This. 1st, 3rd and Brink. No problem. Don't think it gets it done though.
Hart nor Konecny in this proposed trade however, I would be okay with trading either/both for the right deals.
The assumption is that selling at the deadline gets you more assets. And if that's correct and the assuming the offer is at least decent, not selling Sealer AND Walker at the deadline would be a huge mistake and more of the same type of 'management' they've had for too long.
If I remember correctly, Ville Leino was a prime example of this group as well. The memories of the line with him, Danny and Harnell was something special while it lasted.
Regarding Zegras. He is not a ginger so it's a thumbs up from me.
(just kidding all you gingers)
In addition to Carey Price, Tuukka Rask, Drew Doughty, Erik Karlsson, Evgeni Malkin, Alexander Ovechkin, RNH, Zach Werenski, ....
Arguably there are more 'well-known' names on that list than not.
Was the first game I watched the ending this year.
Next Up: Watch a game from start to finish.
Nice to see the kids filling in the roles and getting experience.
They seem to be developing team chemistry and identity which has been lacking for a long time.
Yea, despite Sanheim's crappy year last year, I have no problem with him overall. I'm hoping he has a comeback year this year but he really isn't a big problem for the Flyers and potentially has the abilities to be a real asset for them moving forward.
I agree they aren't the best but I wouldn't say they are completely stupid. I get where they were going, missed the mark a bit.
I'd still pick one up at the thrift store or appreciate someone mailing one to me.
You lost me at D-man
I really thought Issac would pan out and he still might. The preds obviously sees something in him and right now, I trust the Preds org wayyyyy more than the Flyers org. Just on that metric alone, my guess is he turns into a serviceable 3/4 liner.
I am wondering what does make GM 'qualified' other than already being a GM previously. Seriously, I'm wondering.
If Briere, who - (1) Played in the NHL for 15 years (successfully and wasn't a goon) (2) Rose the the ranks to GM a ECHL team (successfully - isn't qualified, which person is (assuming they weren't a GM previously.
So in simplest terms, you think during this "transformation" (not rebuild) the team reaches their prime (best chance years for a cup) within the next 5 years. And I think they are approaching their prime in year 5. Glad we got that sorted out!
I wish there was a way to put a reminder on posts like a calendar system. That way you could mark it to remind you so many days in the future to remind you to come back to see who was right about predicting what will happen in the future. @hf101, @radoran, @yave1964 - quick, someone implement that code please.
As for now Grateful poster, if we are still spinning 5 years from now we'll come back to this conversation.
