I agree. It should one hell of a great, back and forth series. Two teams with a ton of skill, savvy and firepower. I have the Panthers winning it in 7.

Florida is my pick to win the Cup, and was at the start of the season. They can beat you any way that you want to play, and they have the goaltending, offense and mobile defense to do so. I'm surprised more so-called experts aren't picking them, to win it all. They can give any team in the league fits, and can answer the tenacity and skill, of teams like the Rangers, Lightning and Bruins.

Toronto got the tough one, the first one, out of the way. Now they killed a penalty off.

The Leafs are playing well, but they have to be willing to compete more along the boards.. as well as in open ice, for the puck. They're losing their battles and their composure, at times. They are getting their fair share in shots, and have more than Boston.

Why is this so hard for so many. There are 31 other teams in the league, some successful, some not. All the examples needed are right there in front of their faces, yet somehow the great Flyer mojo continues to get to neither, they just seem so happy to be mediocre forever. After watching Danny B spew his bull crap Wednesday it's hard to think otherwise.

Danny B can be an excellent GM, of they let him. The problem is the season ticket holders don't turn on the higher up enough, therefore there is no urgency to change philosophy.

As coveted as he may have been by other teams..Flyers ownership probably told Keith Jones, to tell him something along the lines of, "We're hiring you and giving you a lot of money for your first NHL exec job, but we're watching, and we still want you do things mostly our way".  I want a couple of years to see what either a) Danny B can do and/or b) what the execs allow him to do. On the surface, he's a good hire, in my opinion. However. due to those previously mentioned execs..he might be the equivalent on putting lipstick, on a pig.

Damn. Now, they can't even coach Drysdale on how to play in his own zone now, for God knows how long.  The retool, we all know, is about ego and pride going back decades. The Patrick pick continues to haunt them, to this day. Red flags all over him, yet he was their pick. The Gauthier situation, I don't blame them for..UNLESS he didn't want to play here, and they knew ahead of time and drafted him anyway. If that's the case, obviously that is sheer total incompetence from the Flyers organization.

I wasn't sure what the right place for my picks was. So I'm putting them here. Obviously, based on my picks, it should be one hell of a first round.

I'm picking Florida over Dallas in 6, to win the Stanley Cup.

I agree. Dallas gets a huge test early and I think it benefits them, and they go all the way to the finals again, after winning a hard fought series, in 6.

On paper, Colorado is better, but their goaltending isn't very good. Unless Georgiev plays better (or Annunen can step up somehow), and their defense plays better, I don't think they beat the Jets. Even with all their firepower. Jets in 6.

Canucks in 6. They have too much firepower for the Predators, though Saros can steal a game or two.

This is a very even series. I think Barkov and Tkachuk step it up and have a big Game 7, and Florida pulls the series out at home.

"Familiarity breeds contempt". That describes this matchup well. Third year in a row these teams have met. Great power play for the Oilers (4th best in the regular season) against a great PK unit for the Kings (2nd best in the regular season). I think McDavid and Draisaitl come through in the clutch, and win a hard fought series. I'm picking the Oilers in 7, although the Kings will try and hit them often and wear Edmonton down... and do their best to get under the skin of McDavid, Draisaitl and Co. It should be an excellent series.

Why not just call them the Utah Coyotes?  Both fans of the Arizona Coyotes might be offended, but they'll get over it. 

It's not a GREAT team name, but even the Utah or Salt Lake Mountain Lions would be a better team name than Utah HC, HockeyClub, Blizzard, Fury or Venom IMHO.

The Bruins, particularly on defense, are more built for playoff hockey. The game changes a bit in the postseason. The Leafs give the Bruins all they can handle, are tougher and better than previous versions of themselves..but fall short in Game 7 at Boston.
