Obviously it's because the crowd isn't doing its part of yelling "shooooot" enough when we have the puck.

You're right. There was one play where Malkin tried some move on Coburn but Coburn broke it up. I think Edzo or whoever said something like "I give Malkin full credit for even trying that move!" I could easily try one of a thousand moves and lose the puck but I doubt it'd be worthy of any praise for the effort.

I would too. The fact is Crosby has burned us with a lot of goals and I agree with the other poster that getting scored on by Kunitz, Malkin, Cooke-hell even Talbot was a pain in our side for a while-would be just as bad. 3/4 of those guys already have, which makes being on the right side of this one for once that much sweeter-for the time being.

In addition to the pens blog comments i posted yesterday w/r/t Hartnell scoring the winning goal, I found this one pretty satisfying as well. ″To lose that way against that team, with him scoring,″ Penguins winger Pascal Dupuis said, shaking his head in disbelief and disappointment. ″I don't know.″ We all have our players we love to hate who burn us for that backbreaking goal, but it's nice to see we have some thorns in the sides of other teams as well.

Andy. I had to watch with the TV on mute. It was tough, but not nearly as painful as listening to the insufferable Jack Edwards have a ****-fest for the Bruins. I used to think Brickley kept the broadcast pretty level, but I guess that's no longer the case?

and also, the Rangers fans in the neighborhood who were yelling at me earlier today for wearing my Flyers jacket now owe me several drinks.

all i can say is WOW. what an ending. and grossmann must be re-signed. that is all.

the one thing not to get lost among all of us flyers fans is that when we boo our players it's not hating on them. we hold our players accountable and we expect the best from them. when we feel like they're dogging it we let them know. the other side of this coin is just because we support a player who's struggling doesn't mean we're a complete homer and are running about with orange-colored glasses. flyers fans, all of us, should understand this more than any other fan, even fellow philadelphia fans.

i actually kept the faith with bryz this whole season, even though i was getting mad he kept making me eat **** in front of my friends. i kept thinking "he'll turn it around. there's no way he can keep playing this bad." the funny thing is, if he really wanted to sink the ship, he probably could play worse, even though few on this board could believe that. the whole "regressing to the mean" phrase has a slightly different interpretation for Bryz: whereas we usually say that when a player is overachieving, in this case we have to say Bryz "regressing" is actually him improving his play just to be at his career average. weird how it works out that way. now that he's playing better i have no illusions he can keep up this pace, but if he remains solid, confident, and reliable, it will be a big lift to the team heading into the playoffs.
