I'm beginning to think the business types might have had a hand in pairing Michkov with Bonk.  Michkov is high risk, high return.  On the other hand, Bonk is characterized as a a good all-arounder but having less upside than other D-men in the pool.  This seems like a "portfolio" approach seeking balance.  I wouldn't have gone for Michkov on a number of fronts, and believe there's at best a 50% chance he shows.  But I agree with others that it was a courageous choice that might not have come from prior management.

I kind of felt the same; didn't like the pick at all to start but the more I read the more i was ok with it. RHD who projects to be top 4 guy is good in my book. Not so sexy or flashy stat/skill wise, but could be a key reliable minute muncher that teams need.

it's gonna be alright guys. tonight will only determine whether or not I will live long enough to see the flyers win a cup. I've only been a fan since 86-87, so I figure I have maybe 5-10 more years left in me. No pressure at all. Is there a "pretty good" 2-way winger who is solid at everything equally but great at nothing that we can convert to center? is there a second round sleeper we can take at #7 and beat everyone else to the punch? this is how we do it in the mid-2000s, right?

  4. I think it would be a mistake to trade him right now, but the return had better be huge IMO. Like top 5 pick. I also read something somewhere the ruling on that Team Canada assault hasn't happened yet, which may be holding up any real moves for Hart. I can't imagine he'd be involved in that, but it's certainly not going away (also I could be just a wrong judge of character).
