  1. True story, Ruff has a niece who lives in Galion Ohio about ten minutes from me, she was dating a relative of mine and the last time she went to Buffalo she came back with a Ryan Miller jersey for me, so since then even tho I am a wings fan I root for Ruff. Good to see your boys turn it on.
  2. Last time I will say it but it was a clean hit, very hard, but he was keeping the puck in the philly zone. Voracek is taller and has about 15 pounds on Kronner but he bent over with his chin on his chest and lolligagged out of the zone. Jake says it was his fault. Jagr said is was a clean hit. Frankly I dont understand what the fuss is about. Hope he scores against the Kings friday.
  3. Would you rather be a four with an extra home game against the Pens or a six and a give up home ice? Home ice is huge in the playoffs.
  4. Kronwall has 14 goals, is the best hitter in the game today, is a solid responsible d-man in his own zone. He is not fast, it is about brains, positioning and timing with him. Any team would be greatly improved to have him on their blue line, but lucky for us Holland tied him up for a long time. It is hard for me to understand the Bully fans crying about cheap shots when the hit while brutal was clean and within the rules. Wish you got the subtle and not so subtle nuances of the game, maybe some day.
  5. Looks like your Flyers are gonna be anywhere from 4-6, may seem like a silly thing to say but a six seed might be the best thing for them. As a four or five, more than likely you are gonna draw the Penguins in the first round, a very tough draw. Falling to six would get you the either the Jets or most likely the Panthers, who are not the worst teams in the league but certainly not the Pens. Who do you want to play in the first round?
  6. Big difference between Pronger and Lemieux. Pronger with the Blues was a thorn in our side, hard hitting, give no quarter brutal on us in the playoffs I swear he scored 10 goals a year and it always seemed like he scored five of them against us. Then with Edmonton he carried the Oilers past us in a huge first round upset. Then 2007 the ducks, his destroying Homer on the side wall, I hated playing him, you knew he was gonna be one of the top two or three players on the ice and he was one of the few who gave Stevie Y no quarter, he hit him as much as anyone and never backed down. But I loved his game, always secretly wished he was in a wings uniform and I am crushed that this ultimate warrior is felled by a concussion, in some ways I feel worse about it than Crosbys. I went from hating him, to grudging respect to admiring him to watching him teach your flyers how to win and dang near take out the blackhawks, truthfully I rooted for Philly because of Pronger and my wifes favorite underdog Brian 'dont call me Bobby' Boucher that post season. I wish nothing but the best for Pronger and his family. As far as Lemieux, if he was on the side of the road on fire, I doubt I would pee on him to help him out. Big difference between a turtlin flopper crybaby and a good solid take no quarter hockey player. I respect what Lemieux did as a player winning cups with three organizations but he was cheap. Voracek said the hit was clean and blamed himself. Jagr said it was clean and said if you take that type of hit out of hockey it turns into basketball. Hope Voracek is okay, hope he learns a lesson and wish you guys good luck, you will probably get the Pens in the first round, be nice to see Jagr and Talbot score about seven against them.
  7. I am a huge wings fan, love players like Kronwall and Pronger, Scott Stevens, Neidermayer, Konstantinov. If you come down the ice with your head down against these guys you are gonna be destroyed. Clean hit last night, the league agrees. Hope your boy is gonna be alright, hope he remembers to not have his chin on his chest admiring the puck on his stick next time. Good luck the rest of the way. Hope to see you in the finals.
  8. Kronwall knows the rules, broke no rules plays in the rules. Good clean hit, odviously the league agrees. Scott Stevens, Pronger, Kronwall, Niedermayer and Konstantinov have always been my favorite type of players, they live on the edge and you damn well better keep your head up and if you dont it is your own fault. I hope Voracek is okay, but he had his chin on his chest admiring how pretty the puck looked on his stick and has nobody but himself to blame. Looks like the league agrees. Its hockey guys, not t-ball.
  9. You cant have him, he is ours, lol
  10. Thanks for putting that up so quick. Voracek is responsible for the hit, he just got lazy.
  11. I can see the Flyers fans crying like babies already, but while that is the most viscious hit of the year it was clean. Voracek was moving up ice lolligagging with his head down admiring how pretty the puck looked on his stick. Kronwall lead with his body, solid but brutal hockey the way Vlady used to play.
  12. Clean hit, Kronwall moved in but Voracek was admiring how pretty the puck looked on his stick instead of paying attention. Hope he okay but it was his own fault. Now the one the other day on Brierre was a cheap shot but this was clean and much more Voraceks fault than Kronners.
  13. Rather now than April, just hoping everyone gets right in time to put those damn blues away. Big difference between 2 and 4 seed is second round, assuming 1,2,3,4 all win, 2nd round as a four we would have to play the Nucks, as a two we would have home ice against the Sharks/Kings/Coyotes. Big difference....
  14. The Wings win the division, 2nd in the west behind Vancouver. Wont change no matter how long Pavel is out or soon he comes back, St. louis and Nashville will be a fun 4-5 first round matchup. Just hope we draw the Blackhawks or someone close to our time zone.
  15. I am telling you, you guys will LOVE Brendan Smith. The hockey news calls him a poor mans Keith Yandle which would sure be fine, but he reminds me more of a young Derian Hatcher. Offensive skill and a nasty streak, I know Kronwall and Stuart hit, but this boy is just nasty. We havent had someone like him since Vlady and I dont overhype our prospects, but this kid brings an edge to the blueline we have been missing and gives us five d-men who can move the puck, Lidstrom, White, Kronwall, Smith and Quincey. I remember back in November hearing the Wings were offering Filpulla and Smith for ryan of Anaheim and I was praying it didnt go through. I have followed him since college and he is a keeper.
  16. Rinaldo is a joke, on a team that cant kill a penalty he takes more dumb penalties than anyone in the game and the uneducated Flyer fans love the guy. A bad team wants a guy like that to keep the fans from falling asleep but a good team like Philly should bury him with the Phantoms.
  17. please dont eliminate hitting, good clean hits are one of the best part of the game.
  18. You know you have been Kronwalled when the other team is still crying about it a month or more later. KRONWALL RULES!! Hockey players dont wear dresses you know.
  19. It would have been really really nice to add a top six forward, but look at the price that players went for. Gaustad brought a first for gods sake. Pahlsson for two fourths. To get someone who would help our team the price would have been too high for now and the future. I trust Holland and Nill to always look at the big picture and make the right decision. Now Quincey improves the offense from the blue line as does Brendan Smith if he can play disciplined. The Wings blue line is as good if not better than any in the league at moving the puck. I really think our post season is in the hands of Z. If he plays like 2008 with the rest of supporting cast just playing their normal game we will go deep.

    Goon

Watched it twice this weekend, two thumbs way up on this movie. Its as good as any hockey movie since slapshot, the hero is loveable, the villian is likeable. The locker room scenes, the coach fighting with the star player, the chirping back and forth, wow what a fun movie.
  21. Havent heard his name mentioned but sure he would fit in nicely.
  22. This is what is frustrating about the Wings, great record, bit of smoke and mirrors, lots of shootout success which of course doesnt translate into post season. The Wings are so far under the cap they could add two or even three more players and seem content to talk about mediocre talents like Jones, Samuelsson and Gaustad, when a top six forward is desperately called for. I believe in Ken Holland but I am not sure what he is thinking if all he does is add a complimentary role player with all the cap space available.
  23. Under the heading of is that all there is, the Wings are looking at David Jones of the Avalanche and Samuelsson of the Panthers. Ken Holland is trying to make sure the chemistry isnt hurt, Samuelsson was very solid if streaky here for years, left for the Nucks and if he hadnt been injured they likely would have beaten the Bruins last year. He would be a second or third line winger, solid in both ends can play the point on a power play and is another Swede to go with the thirty already on the roster. Jones can score and is a big boy, solid in both ends, 2nd or third line wing who too often has been bumped up to the first line by the Avalanche over the last couple of years. He is younger and less injury prone. Between the two of them I would want Jones first, both are scorers who are defensively responsible and although Samuelsson has played here before I think Jones has more in the tank. That said, Derek roy is the forward who I would love to see in a Wings uniform, followed by Vanek. One way or another, I will be glued to the TV tommorow afternoon.....
  24. Two very skilled teams played a solid game, Vancouver came out and owned the Wings in the first, the Wings found their legs and pushed back for the final two. Congrats on a great streak, at least we got a point. Now we can concentrate on the division and going for the highest seed possible.
  25. I could see the Wild trying to make a move for Nash, tho I highly doubt that he would waive his no trade to go there, too much like Columbus. I really feel that the wild could offer Columbus some nice parts to make a deal.
