  1. Pronger's goal was nice, but to fall down and give up a shortie just ruined it for me.

SImmonds made bad decisions all game long. Now we know who Schenn can replace.

Simmonds has strangely not been very good of late. He came out of the gate in pre-season and regular season like a gang buster. But, his play has noticeably tailed off. I was wondering, yesterday, if he's suffering some nagging injury.

  2. There was a time when Nitty was 14-0 when playing Atlanta as a Philadelphia Flyer.

However since letting Nitty leave as a free agent the team has only won one game against Atlanta.

More evidence to support your case... My fantasy team was starting to pick up points like crazy and then I picked up nitty to stash him on my IR for a reg starter when he comes back. Well.... No sooner that I do that and my goalies spring leaks like the titanic and everyone decides not to score.

It's the nitty curse I tell ya!!

  3. Well after less then 15 min in the game Flyers is losing 3-0 to Jets. And why in hell he is putting Bob in the net after he lost pretty much the previous game to Jet in one period. It doesn't matter if Flyers tied a game later, anyway the game was lost already.

What is wrong with the guy(Lavy)?

Of course it's not excuse for Bob, but what a hell.

I think he was making a statement that it was not bob's fault. The team was just plain **** in front of him. Why pull bob and shake his confidence further that way.

It's very hard to question the guys intelligence on these kind of judgement calls during the season because we don't know what's going on behind the scenes. It's a long season and sometimes they lose a few battles, but lavy is looking at the big picture. They lost that game in the first period, damage was done, no need to damage bob's confidence anymore.

  4. IrishJim: It is deifinitely Buff-Prick. And even if he had the first ever browser introduced in history, it would still work to get him into the site. The only problem would be that certain html and CSS (Cascading Style Sheet) coding would not work correctly. In essense the page would look bad and be a little hard to read; but, it would still work.

    Pfiggle is not Pfiggle

Yet, his face may jiggle jiggle

But I can tell for sure

    It's just a trolling lure

If you get take that bait

    You'll quickly find your fate

    It was just a trick

    It is Buffalo Prick

haha.. nice poem. yeah, the argument that this site won't work for him is actually hysterical. philly.com is probably the worst website i've traveled to. so much crap running behind the scenes on that one that is screws up every browser on every computer i've tried.

  5. He started off slow, but he's been excellent lately.

As much as he downplayed "Game #18" leading up to it, he seemed pretty darned excited when Read knocked in the game winner.

The defense made him work for that one.

he needed an adjustment period. it's funny that a lot of people don't wanna give a goalie that. different goalies like their D to do different things in front of them. they had communication issues and things that needed time to gel. i think we're starting to see that happen now. mid nov is not a long amount of time for that to happen. it's about right. bryz likes to see the first shot, the flyers had been diving in front of everything before... probably because they knew every puck had the chance to see net with boucher. ;)

  6. your mother wants to see twilight? oh well... there seems to be no winning this one, unless you want everyone to think you're a complete dick. why can't you dvr? all you need to do is go radio silence once the game starts and then pop it on once you get home. no biggie really. i do it all the time. turn my phone off if i'm concerned someone will ruin the score, then sit back and enjoy. it's an early game today too, so you don't even have to stay up all night.

  7. he's been recently posting on philly.com. i know, i know... who cares. i was just checking in over there and was reading a thread he started. does anyone remember him from 'back in the day'? his 'return' to the board is highly suspicious and reeks of buffalo rick. bad spelling, 'so be it', and all.

anyone else get that feeling? i only bring it up because i don't wanna see that douche over here...

  8. I logged into the "Matrix" this morning and the take over is almost complete! WOW, just wow.

I must admit I felt like an addict going back there this morning, with the initial high of clicking on the link followed by the crash of seeing its current state, now I'm here for rehab!

    Ahhhhh!

i've peeked in less and less, but it's just a force of habit. i forget when i first logged on there, but maybe it was 2005? this site is just so far superior, though, so i'm sure i'll just have a bitter aftertaste when i think of that place from now on.

  9. I take it you missed the part about Jagr's injury involving zambonis, the mafia, the KGB, his wife, Zherdev, Crosby, the ice girls, et al involved in the plot?

he has made a miraculous recovery already... to have come back from the dead and only be DTD. you have to admit.... the dubious plot against him was sinister and chilling, but it's good to see jags recover from the zamboni hit-and-run.

  10. it's always been this way. although, i think the refs used to have a bit more respect for the 'enforcer' types and they let them do their job, within reason. now.. .yeah... almost every team has someone that's on their radar. rinaldo is obviously one of them. it sucks for him and us. sucks for hockey in general as well because they are actively trying to discourage big hits apparently.

  11. That's awesome. Real or not. Rick just went completely insane. My first though was, oh man if they shut that down are those rejects (Rick, Kuato, et. al.) all coming here? My second thought was, it's probably the best thing for that forum at this point. Sometimes you have to burn the village in order to save it!

Yah, whether that was a real admins not doesn't really matter to me... It's ricks blowup that cracks me up.

They are literally talking to themselves. Rick is talking to Rick, kuato and gutless and that's about it.

  12. oh, yeah, he got the shot off well, no question. a goalie who isn't cheating, though, who is square to the shooter in that position, should be able to close his eyes and make the save. from that flat an angle, there shouldn't be anything to shoot at. bryzgalov was leaning to his right and let it sneak in shortside.

I wanted to give him a mulligan on that one because it did look as if pronger got a stick on it, which may have created a deflection of sorts... Or an unpredictable velocity change.

But, you're right, he was cheating it and if he were in position, he should have easily had it.

  13. I don't like him at all, was happy Carcillo was gone now this kid takes his place. All he does is run around and hits, he has a bullseye on his back and the refs are watching. In every game that I watch he has taken atleast 1 penalty in each game he's played. That is ridiculous to me on top of our other stupid penalties the team takes. I can see him getting a few suspensions if he plays out the year on the Flyers.

I think rinaldo has had more than his fair share of bad calls against him. He's had a few great hits along the half boards that were called penalties. Last nights call on his great hit really pisses me off because if there is a real threat to hitting in this league, there it is... The refs who make those bad calls.

I like what rinaldo brings. He fits the ne enforcer role. He can play, but he can also drop them. He's a high energy guy who raises the excitement level around him. What's not to like?

  14. if the forward can't avoid the contact then he can't avoid the contact, and i have no problem. or if the goalie and the forward get to the puck at the same time, then i'm good with that, too. miller had swept the puck to the corner well before the contact, and then lucic dropped his shoulder and blew him up. that's not cool.

Not cool... But it was awesome... Lol. I hate miller... Great goalie, but Unfortunately a better whiner.

  15. I agree with you there, don't think anyone would've fit with Richards half assing his play during the 2nd half. Don't think Versteeg had a fair shake here but it's over with and i'm happy for Versteeg to be playing well. Hopefully not against us tomorrow night.

well... and now that we know how 'mature' richards is, by all indications, it's not really a shock to think that they didn't accept a player from the team that ousted them from the stanley cup finals. in fact, that's when the **** really started to hit the fan... soon after he got here.

having said all that, i'm still in favor of homer's decision to jettison him. he needed to basically hit the reset button on this team and i, for one, and really glad he had the guts to do it.
