That was not even an AHL defense last night and mason is struggling mightily. So it was my feeling, even before the game, that the flyers should completely own them. They did, so the only conclusion I can take from last night is that we have a solid NHL team.

... Which is good. But, it's still a WIP. We won't really know what kind of contenders they are until like march. Long season, a lot could happen.

I know some posters had their hopes up that Jagr would fail in Philly for some strange reason. But he has been the perfect complement to Giroux and has been absolutely nothing like the skeptics predicted. Anyway, I really hope he holds up physically throughout the season since that is really the only argument the skeptics potentially still have. However, even if he does wear down my hat is off to the guy for doing what he has done so far.

I was probably more positive than most about the move when it happened, but I'd be lying if I said I knew it would work out this well. Of course I had the same concerns as his detractors, but I dunno... I just had a good feeling about the move. That's the only way I can put it.

At any rate... It's awesome. Love the chemistry with Giroux and just his overall attitude. As cousin eddie would say to Clarke griswold... This is just a real nice surprise Clarke...

Really? I switched to gamecenter this summer from center ice and I'm loving it. Home feeds for almost all the games as compared to 3-4 a year with center ice. I haven't had a problem streaming it either. No choppiness at all. I'm even streaming on the iPad while my wife is streaming something else on the big screen via Roku or Apple Tv.

I'm at a 11 mbps download and about an 8.4mbps upload.

This is my first year, but it has been choppy from time to time. It's always choppy on google chrome, so browser settings could affect. I use safari now.

I have 50mbps download that's working fine, so I know it's not me... As far as connection. When it works, which has been most of the time... It's fantastic. Quality is almost indistinguishable from HD.

My biggest problem is their customer service... Rather... Lack of any.

It is a shame, by all reports JVR worked his butt off this summer to get into shape. Didn't JVR start off really slowly last year and come on and didn't he confront Chara after Chara hit Giroux earlier in the season? In any case, as coach I would not have started with JVR. Vorachuk and Simmonds to mention two have looked at lot more inconsistent than JVR. Anyway, I just don't get Lavy's moves.

I certainly wish my pay rate was equivalent with his..... :unsure: Let's say he averages 2 minutes a game over an 82 game season that comes out to 164 minutes or 2 hrs and 44 minutes of "paid time" which comes out to about 400,000 dollars an hour......damn.....I think I am going to be sick......

Tough loss tonight. I hate these shootouts. Looks to me like the Flyers are playing in fits and starts. We need a solid, consistent game. Good thing, maybe it's a good thing, we have the Bluejackets coming in to town for the next game on Saturday. I watched both games tonight - Flyers and Jackets. Watched the post game interviews with the Jackets. They are an extremely down and demoralized team. We let a game slip away tonight. I think we can get it back Saturday. Right game at the right time to rebound. We'll be the hungrier of the two teams for sure. This could be the game we need to get our legs back under us. But then I thought the same thing against Winnipeg.......

I am from Macedonia (only hockey fan in the country ) and have been following the Flyers and the NHL since I moved to Prague, Czech Republic in 2003...before that it was only Olympics and World Championships.

Anyway, since almost every good poster from that other board you started hating is here...I thought I might join and be more active this time around...

Maybe Jagr was #4. Jagr has only about a 23% record for scoring in the shootout. Simmonds is lifetime 40% on the shootout. I would have liked to have seen Bob perform better as well in the shootout.

Bob is weirdly bad on the Shootout. It's weird because he seems to be pretty god dealing with D breakdowns that result in 1 on none. He stoned kovy pretty good there, so I'm guessing it's his head. He has too much time to think.

I missed the Brindy and Lindros days, they were the one of the best at FO. These guys need to practice it every darn day, even on game days. We rarely score off of faceoffs anymore. Seeing other teams do it to us more often and it pisses me off.

Maybe lindros can hang around for a few weeks after the WC... Have a face off school?

Talbot said after the game that he has a limited supply of moves. Thus I can see why he wasn't chosen. If I am remembering correctly didn't Simmonds score in the shootout during pre-season? Not sure really why Jagr wasn't given the chance. Hartnell of course would have fallen so that is definitely a no go. I think Lavy choses the shooters as he does his time outs, whatever he feels like at the moment.

Seems that way... As much as I hate the Shootout, it is a point. I guess if Simmonds scored, he's a genius. As it was, that was a horrible attempt.

Did anyone else find this to be a bit of an odd choice? I was sure it would be briere, Jagr, giroux. I just wonder what the thinking was there. Maybe I'm the only one who thought it strange.

I mean, if he had thrown talbot in there, I would have understood his thinking.... It just seemed out of left field to me.

I know there is alot of talk on this board (and the old one) about trading Schenn but I wouldn't do that unless we thought we were really close to a cup. No matter what the Flyers try spin on this season as, it is fairly obvious that this is a rebuilding year. Yes we may make a playoff run and we may get to the second round, but I do not see a cup this year. I would rather see them hold onto Schenn and see what he matures into a season or two from now.

Agreed... Patience is needed. I'm not into trading him unless something too good to pass up came along. Like if LA wanted to send us Richards for schenn and Simmonds.... Er um.
