Absolutely, classic boarding in my mind!

Thanks! That's good to hear. Perhaps it'll keep Homer from making any moves for another forward.....

Heaven help us

Howie,
Perhaps Sunshine Sports and Entertainment doesn't like the behavior when it's someone on the other team that scores the hattie and the hats fly. You have to wonder if would've been a Panther scoring the hattie if the same would apply.
I don't think other cities like us very much

You could tell how much the crowd was into it, especially the 5 on 3. That place was ROCKIN'!!!! For it to come through on the TV says something..... Glad you're able to get your money's worth

Wow what a game last night. I was prepared to shut it down early but it kept me on the edge of my seat all night (and I was in my living room). I thought all played well and they deserved this win. The major kill was something to watch. Does anyone think that we were intentionally icing the puck? Seemed wierd.
Let's keep it up!!!!!!!!!

How 'bout Bryz? Does Montreal need a goalie?
-
I didn't know that teams can send in tapes for a look-see. The Flyers should take all the borderline hits on us for the rest of the season and send in every tape for Shanny to look at. We could probably keep him pretty busy with all the stuff other teams get away with when it come to the Flyers......

Even though a shortened season, I'd love to see "G" kick both their asses. I am so sick of those two!!!
-
With his KHL numbers, I'd love to see us try to get Bob back. I've said if before, I never thought he got a fair shake last year. I would have let him be starter to see what he's truly made of, rather than give Bryz a lifetime deal.
-
how active the board's become since this morning's news. I was pleased that we'll apparently have hockey but reading the posts and getting back to business as usual is getting me REALLY PUMPED!!!!!!!!!!!!
When do we start???????
I'm ready NOW!
-
I'd like to see us try to get Bob back and give him a real shot! I think he got the shaft while he was here!
-
I hear the players still have to put it to a vote but that being said, I'm pretty excited. Sad that it took this long though. And yes, let's get Bryz outta here!
-
Good for him! May as well play the game in Germany, won't be doing it here.

I can not care for 8 million, I do it now for a whole lot less. I wonder what the qualifications are for that particular position and where i should send me resume.

I heard on the news that Giroux was injured the other night....
Neck injury but "nothing serious"
PuckDaddyAccording to the Baltimore Sun, the average cover athlete for an EA Sports hockey video game plays six fewer games in the season after they make the cover. It's not a jinx on the level of the Madden Curse, and EA Sports actually produced a video attempting to dispel the notion of hockey cover voodoo.Philadelphia Flyers fans are hoping NHL 13 cover boy Claude Giroux hasn't been hexed.
Giroux is playing for Eisbären Berlin in Germany during the NHL lockout. He suffered a neck injury on Friday after a check to the head forced him out of a German Elite League game. There was no penalty on the play, and the Polar Bears petitioned the league over the non-call against Krefeld.
Giroux told the Philadelphia Daily News it's "just a little neck injury" and to "not read too much into it."
On Tuesday, however, the team announced that Giroux is headed back to the U.S. to see a specialist in Atlanta for further tests on his neck, as initial SCAT tests didn't reveal any damage but Giroux continued to feel "unwell," according to Hockeyweb.de.
Bill Meltzer notes that the initial word on Giroux was a "neck stinger", which is hopefully just the case. As '24/7' dutifully chronicled, he has some concussion history. But the good news is that this sounds all very precautionary, according to the GM of his German team.
For all the players that hopped overseas during the lockout, there's been (pleasantly) surprising few injuries to significant stars.
Remember the Great Rick Nash Injury Panic? The New York Rangers star hurt his shoulder early in the lockout, but initial concerns proved more dire than the actual injury.
It did lead to an interesting debate about a player suffering a significant injury — like a career-threatening one — overseas. As Andrew Gross of the Bergen Record wrote:
The short answer likely would be another fight between the NHL and the NHL Players' Association since no precedent has been set.One agent said Monday he believes such an injured player would argue he was fulfilling the language in his NHL contract that demands he stay in shape. Obviously, the NHL team would argue otherwise and possibly seek nullification of the deal. Likely, it would head to a grievance proceeding or a court of law.Hey, good times. Let's end the lockout and bring our boys home, shall we?
Has anyone else heard anything about this?
Would be just our luck that the season starts and our best player is injured.......

Snider later issued a statement disputing the Daily News column.
"An article appearing in today's Philadelphia Daily News is absolutely erroneous," Snider said. "I am a solid supporter of National Hockey League Commissioner Gary Bettman and the League in this unfortunate situation.
"Like all fans, players, owners and League officials, I am extremely hopeful that an agreement can be reached and we can eventually be playing hockey again soon. League rules prevent me and all owners from making any comments on the labor negotiations. I will continue to honor that and not make any further comments."
Saw this on TSN this morning...is he trying not to get fined??????

If you're in the area and looking for some live hockey for a great cause Hartnell and Richards(Brad) are putting together a game at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City...
Here is the link to the details:

That just sickens me to no end. I hope they throw the book at them, whatever that means in the Czech Republic!

I don't know if anyone saw this...
I found this on TSN. It explains how the years in the contract are affected by the lockout. It'll be sad not to see Kimmo play again.

Interesting you bring up Bob. I still to this day wish that we would have given him the time to sink or swim before we did something like we did with Bryz. I think he will be a force in this league and we really screwed the pouch on that one. It makes me sad.

How's about "Guy" pronounced the French "Gee"..and then just call him "G"...
Not necessarily "Giroux" but his nickname...
-
Wow that is pretty interesting. Puts this whole thing in perspective, no? I think this season is toast and am very concerned for the future of the NHL.
No matter how many articles I read, I still hold the owners 99.999% responsible.

McGinn vs JVR
in Philadelphia Flyers
Posted
During last night's local broadcast they had some really nice quotes from both Danny and Claude regarding the play of McGinn. It had to be nice for him to hear and great for his confidence level.
