  1. Is this the kind of nagging injury that will always give him problems going forward? Kinda like Jagr?
  2. But we'll never know because he wasn't. Who knows - maybe the flip side of that argument is true. Maybe if Bob was in goal he would have made those stops giving us a chance to score in overtime. But the way Dubnyk was playing, I'm not sure we would ever have scored.....
  3. If he hadn't been in goal, maybe Bob makes both saves! These "what if" scenarios can be pretty entertaining. I'm still frustrated that Dubnyk manages to get a shutout. Maybe that's on our offense, but if a goalie like Dubnyk can rise to the occassion, why can't we expect the same thing from our star goalie in a tight game.
  4. Ha! I read the first line and my immediate reaction was - but I HATE Lindy Ruff. Even more than Torts. And then I read your second line. Well played!
  5. I agree. Besides, who else is there now available or that may be after the season that's good enough to take the job? Not like we can lure Torts away from the Rangers!
  6. I thought his second goal was weak. That one that went through his legs. He did have some good stops, but got outplayed by Dubnyk. It's not like we didn't have our shots on goal. Oilers goalie managed to stop everything thrown at him. Bryz couldn't say the same.
  7. Afternoon games and games against the worst teams in the League scare me to death. Nine times out of ten, it ends up as a loss for us.
  8. Midway through the second, Bryz makes a glove save!! Where did that come from?! Wow! A save!! Huh. And just after that second goal slipped right through his legs. Where do we get a journeyman goaltender like Edmonton's who can outplay our $51 million star??? I want one!
  9. Caring too much since 1974. In fact, I have to regrow all my fingernails at the end of every season.
  10. @TedZep - yeah, call me sick, but I'm almost happier with the way the game went/ended. That Simmonds goal with 9.7 seconds, followed by Jagr's record setting goal towards the end of overtime were awesome to watch. Not good for my heart, but really exciting. One of the most exciting games all season. Definitely got my money's worth on that game. So, maybe we SHOULD be thanking Bryz. He makes it interesting to say the least.
  11. We can start a rumor that we're close to reaching a deal with Nabakov.....
  12. I don't know what it is about this post but every time I see it pop up in these situations it makes me laugh out loud lol. Freakin' hilarious.
  13. Yeah. Great goal by jagr and that pass from Briere deserves some props too. Talk about bang-bang. Briere was pretty tenacious tonight. Good to see. Jagr keeps the puck away from people like nobody I've ever seen before. Glad he's playing for us this season.
  14. @merrex, I watched it on Center Ice and was joining the Jets fans getting on Bryz from my living room! Ha. It sounded really loud there. Great atmoshpere. Totally agree with your post.
  15. Agreed. Just like the federal government bailing out the banks!
  16. There's no way for me to make the player play better, but I can express how I feel about his play.
  17. I think you're right, Phillygrump, but it sure makes me feel good. I have a feeling some of the players are trying to do the same thing -- block it out, but sounds like lately it's gotten under the skin of a couple.
  18. I liked their physical play tonight too. Too many turnovers, though. Great goal by Jagr in overtime to win it. The offense kept up great pressure. Love our offense.
  19. What was with Bryz's attempted glove save on that fourth goal he let in tonight??? Talk about awkward. I thought that had lost us the game right then and there. Maybe that's something Reese could work on - golve saves. Start with the basics and work up from there.
  20. I just want to know if it's still okay to boo the officials. Because if we're not allowed to show our displeasure with the officiating by booing, that's really gonna suck. Haha! And how else can we show our unhappiness with a lack of effort? Booing is the most logical, practical, and accepted way. Everybody knows what it means. Just don't start whistling like those sissy European football fans. Ha!
  21. He may have committed his share of turnovers, but then who on this defense hasn't? Not that that should never be used as an excuse - just to provide some perspective. I think his instincts are basically good. He's working, he's learning, he's playing physical, he's trying, his confidence is building. Keep giving him the opportunity. Just because Grossman and Kubina have bigger bodies, doesn't mean they'll commit fewer turnovers. Hopefully they do what they were brought in to do and keep the front of the net clear. That's where they can make a difference over someone like Bourdon. I'm willing to see where that goes. We'll find out soon enough if that strategy's going to pay off and be the solution the team is looking for.
